Queen eye Las Vegas Sphere residency: 'The stuff that we could bring to this would be stupendous'
Rock legends Queen are in discussions about hosting a residency at Las Vegas Sphere.

Queen are "having conversations" about a residency at Las Vegas Sphere.
Guitarist Sir Brian May has spilled that he was so blown away by Eagles' mind-blowing show at the immersive venue in Sin City - which has proved so popular they've extended it several times - that he is now seriously considering a show there for the We Will Rock You hitmakers.
He told a special digital edition of Rolling Stone magazine to mark the 50th anniversary of Bohemian Rhapsody: "I’m very keen on the Sphere.
“It’s got my mind working. I sat there watching the Eagles, thinking, ‘We should do this. The stuff that we could bring to this would be stupendous.’ So, yeah, I would like to do it. We’re having conversations.”
Should the 78-year-old rock icon and drummer Roger Taylor, 76, pull it off, it's unlikely that bassist John Deacon, 74, would reunite with his bandmates, though they would seek his approval first.
May said: “I think both Roger and I find it quite hard, but he doesn’t want to and we have to respect that.
"He wants to be separate. He’s still part of the destiny of the band, though. If we’re trying to make business decisions, he’s always consulted, but it happens through the management or through our accountant. We don’t speak, which is a shame, but we do know that we have his blessing. That’s important.”
While the pair are no longer close to Deacon - who retired in 1997 - they still feel close to late frontman Freddie Mercury.
Taylor said: “Brian and I often think he’s in the room in the corner.
"Cause we know exactly what he’d say and what he’d think. Even though it was all those years ago now that we lost him.”
Mercury - who died in 1991, at the age of 45, from bronchial pneumonia resulting from AIDS - often visits May in his dreams.
He said: “It’s always very prosaic.
"It is never a surprise that he’s there. I don’t think ‘You shouldn’t be here.’ It’s just like he’s part of my life, as he always was.”
The pair didn't mention whether they'd reunite with Adam Lambert, who has performed lead vocals in the place of Mercury since 2011, with their last performance in February 2024 as part of The Rhapsody Tour.
