Rex Orange County returns with Pharrell-produced single Take A Drive
Pharrell Williams has worked his magic on Rex Orange County's first new music since February.

Rex Orange County is back with new music.
The 27-year-old singer-songwriter - whose real name is Alexander James O'Connor - has unveiled his brand-new single, Take A Drive, produced by legendary musician and fashion designer Pharrell Williams.
This marks Rex’s first new release since his two-track collaboration with GRAMMY-winning artist Daniel Caesar, Rearrange My World / There’s a Field (That’s Only Yours), which has surpassed 60 million streams since February.
Take A Drive showcases a seamless fusion of Rex’s raw, introspective songwriting and Pharrell’s unmistakable sonic fingerprint. Anchored by groovy bass riffs, radiant synths, and Rex’s instantly recognisable vocals.
The track was crafted at Louis Vuitton’s Paris atelier, marking a unique convergence of music and creative design.
Following his sold-out six-date residency at The London Palladium earlier this year, Rex has continued to expand his artistic footprint. He recently appeared on the remix of Ravyn Lenae’s viral hit, Love Me Not, and contributed Love and Obsession to Alex Russell’s film Lurker, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. This marked Rex’s first foray into music for cinema.
Rex’s creative collaborations remain strong. His partnership with Daniel Caesar and Sudanese-Canadian musician Mustafa The Poet saw the trio travel to Cairo in April for an intimate performance and discussion session alongside Belgian-Egyptian artist Tamino.
Fans can catch Rex Orange County on his upcoming tour dates, where they can hear Take A Drive in all its glory.
