Gwyneth Paltrow (born September 27, 1972) is an Academy Award, Golden Globe- and double Screen Actors Guild Award-winning American actress, as well as a chart-topping singer in Australia.
She is perhaps best known for her roles in the films Se7en, Shakespeare in Love, Iron Man and The Talented Mr. Ripley.
She is married to Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin and has had two children with him.
Early career: 1990-1994
Paltrow made her professional stage debut in 1990 and her debut on film in 1991, in Shout. Later that year, she played the role as the young Wendy in Steven Spielberg's Hook (1991).
Before her breakthrough Gwyneth Paltrow appeared in Malice and also Flesh and Bone.
Paltrow's breakthrough came when she starred in Se7en (1995), opposite Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman. The film was hugely successful commercially and critically.
This was bolstered in 1996 when she starred in Emma, where she received positive critical acclaim, particularly in the UK for her impressive English accent.
Two years later, Gwyneth Paltrow starred in Shakespeare in Love. The film earned more than $100 million in box office receipts and numerous awards. This included Paltrow receiving the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role and also an Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role.

Recent Years: 2000-Present
Until recently, Paltrow has had a relatively low-profile, yet steady, film career with a few critically acclaimed film roles, including Proof (2005) and The Royal Tenenbaums (2001).
Audiences got their first taste of Paltrow's singing ability with the 2000 release of Duets, with singer Huey Lewis. Towards the end of the film they perform a cover version of Smokey Robinson's "Cruisin'" which would eventually be released and go to number one in Australia, while Gwyneth Paltrow's rendition of the Kim Carnes classic "Bette Davis Eyes" reached number three.
Since winning the Academy Award for Best Actress for Shakespeare in Love, Paltrow's film success has been less noteworthy, including several cameo roles, such as her appearance in Love and Other Disasters, Running with Scissors and Infamous.
Despite some low key appearances Paltrow's leading role in 2008's Iron Man may have restored her superstar status.
Paltrow gave birth to their first child, a daughter named Apple Blythe Alison Martin, five months later, on May 14, 2004, in London.
Her second child, Moses Bruce Anthony Martin, was born on April 8, 2006 in New York City. Her son's first name was explained as the song that her husband wrote for her shortly before their secret wedding, called "Moses".
Paltrow is good friends with Madonna and they even share the same personal trainer.
On September 27, 2006 (her 34th birthday) Gwyneth sang a duet with rap artist Jay-Z during his concert at the Royal Albert Hall. She sang the chorus for Song Cry.
Paltrow is a descendent of a famous 17th century Polish rabbi, David HaLevi Segal of Krakow.
Actor Simon Pegg is Paltrow's daughter's Godfather.
The couple share two children but divorced five years ago
She termed the super friendly phrase 'conscious uncoupling' when she divorced her husband five years ago and it seems actress and lifestyle expert, Gwyneth Paltrow remains nothing but friendly towards the father of her two children, Chris Martin, saying the pair were 'always meant to be together'.
Gwyneth Paltrow is determined to have a good post-divorce relationship
During an interview with ES magazine, the 46-year-old said she felt a family unit could be 'reinvented', meaning that the effects of the couple's divorce didn't have to be devastating for them or the rest of the family.
The new Coldplay documentary, 'A Head Full of Dreams', sees Martin address his break-up in 2014.
Everybody remembers the infamous “conscious uncoupling” phrase that the former celebrity couple used when they announced their split in 2014 after a decade of marriage. However, speaking on the imminently released Amazon documentary Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams, the band’s frontman revealed that he struggled so much that his bandmates feared for his wellbeing.
The 41 year old star said that his troubles started during the world tour for 2011 album Mylo Xyloto, when he felt “completely worthless and nothing to anybody”. “I was just like, ‘I'm a mess’, really, because I can't enjoy the great things around me,” Martin explained.

The pair had the most showbiz time getting wed in the Hamptons.

The couple unveiled a snap of their wedding bands on social media following the event which reportedly took place over the weekend.

It's hard to believe it's been more than four years since the 46-year-old famously 'consciously uncoupled' from Coldplay's Chris Martin, with whom she has two children, but since then she has been dating Falchuk and now they've finally gotten married in an intimate ceremony at their home in The Hamptons on Long Island.

Paltrow and Martin had two children together before 'consciously uncoupling' in 2015.
Speaking to the New York Times in a new profile piece this week, Paltrow admitted that she hadn’t expected to receive the backlash she did at her memorable choice of words.
“I was really saying we’re in a lot of pain, we failed at this, we’re going to try and do it in a different way,” the 45 year old actress explained. “But I was so raw that I didn’t anticipate… I think that was an instance where it really hit me that an insouciance with language from me is different than from somebody else.”

It apparently happened after Weinstein "made a pass" at Paltrow back in 1995.
In a new interview, Paltrow says that the incident took place at the opening night of ‘Hamlet’ on Broadway back in 1995. Allegedly, Weinstein placed his hands upon her, and suggested that they find a bedroom and have massages, she told Howard Stern’s radio show this week.
This was when Paltrow, now 45, was a rising star and had just signed up with Weinstein’s production company to star in Emma and Shakespeare In Love.
Paltrow and Martin consciously uncoupled nearly three years ago - and she told Stephen Colbert about the state of things between them now.
The couple that memorably described their divorce as a ‘conscious uncoupling’ have just got a little weirder, with Gwyneth Paltrow describing her ex-husband Chris Martin as “like a brother” in a new interview.
Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin were married from 2003 until April 2015, when they announced to the world that they were splitting up, but branded the process a ‘conscious uncoupling’, which is one of the decade’s most amazing phrases. Since their divorce was finalised in early 2016, they’ve enjoyed a pretty relaxed relationship, for the benefit of their two children.
However, Paltrow has now moved on and is engaged to television producer Brad Falchuk. That didn’t stop her from discussing her old marriage in slightly strange terms when she appeared on TV this week.
