Rumours about Blake Shelton dating Gwen Stefani were confirmed just before the CMAs - was Shelton trying to 'win the break-up' after his divorce from Miranda Lambert?
On the same night that Shelton was on the receiving end of quite a few jokes about his recent divorce from Miranda Lambert at the Country Music Awards, TMZ reported that the rumours about him going out with Stefani (who also recently split up with her husband, and the father of her three children, Gavin Rossdale) were true.
Just before the CMAs started, Shelton's publicist confirmed that he is dating Gwen Stefani

In an interview with Seth Meyers, Shelton said that his divorce from Miranda Lambert would be the "elephant in the room" at the CMAs.
The 39 year old was interviewed on NBC’s ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ on Tuesday (October 27th), and revealed that he’s prepared for a few laughs at his expense, after he and his ex-wife Lambert, 31, announced their split earlier this summer. The ceremony is taking place on November 4th at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, and will be hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley.

After having a music career that spanned five decades and saw the release of over 70 studio albums, country music superstar, Glen Campbell, was hit with a major tragedy. In June 2011, Campbell announced to his worldwide fan base that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease six months earlier. What followed was a 'goodbye tour' of epic proportions. The tour was originally scheduled for five weeks, but in almost no time at all, that five weeks blossomed into a 151-week tour of sold-out concerts as fans across the globe flocked to see and support the musical legend before his retirement for the industry. His final performance came in 2012, at that year's Grammy Awards Ceremony were he performed his most famous and most loved song, 'Rhinestone Cowboy'.

The country star had to pay a visit to the Westboro protesters while he was in town.
Brad Paisley made his fans chortle today when he posted a selfie that he had taken with the infamous Westboro Baptist Church who were reportedly protesting against the country star's concert in Bonner Springs, Kansas.
A series of photos and videos on Paisley's Instagram account shows the singer pulling up at the protest site and rallying the church members, who were holding signs such as "God hates drunks," "Sin breeds violence," and "Repent or perish," for a good old team photo.

In Ellen's words, congratulations on this wonderful pineapple award!
Last night’s CMAs were definitely surprising in more ways than one – it was a rookies’ night through and through, with first time winners dominating the list, for starters. More than that though, let’s talk about the fate of one emotional blonde lady in particular: Taylor Swift, who surprised everyone by… not winning. We’re as surprised as you are, but everyone’s favorite country girl went somewhat overlooked by the Country Music Association.
Swift accepted the award in a gorgeous red gown.
Well, that’s not entirely true. Of course Swift received a huge honor when she was announced as the second ever laureate of the Pinnacle award, which is arguably the highest honor bestowed by the Country Music Association, especially considering that Swift is only 23 and just on her fourth studio album. Considering that the only other winner of the Pinnacle Award has been Garth Brooks in 2005… well, you get the picture. It’s a pretty big deal.
Blake Shelton was the big winner of the night, but veteran George Strait took home the top honour
The Country Music Association Awards lit up the Nashville nighttime on Wednesday, 6 November, as 'Country Music's Biggest Night' went off with a bang at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Aired live on ABC last night, the hosts for the evening were once again the ever-reliable Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, who oversaw some memorable moments over the course of the night.
Blake Shelton performs at the CMA Music Festival
Leading the nominations pack for the 47th annual awards was rising star Kacey Musgraves, who led with six nominations in total. Right behind, with five nominations, was Miranda Lambert, but it was her husband Blake Shelton who finished the night as the biggest winner, taking home two gongs during the ceremony. Officially, it was Taylor Swift who went home with the most awards, although her wins for the Music Event of the Year (shared with Tim Mcgraw and Keith Urban) and the sought-after Pinnacle Award had already being revealed prior to the awards show. She also won (again, sharing with McGraw and Urban) for Music Video of the Year for 'Highway Don't Care.'
Everybody dismissed it, Colbert parodied it, maybe we can all move on now.
When Brad Paisley and LL Cool J made waves recently with their eyebrow raising “Accidental Racist”, you can bet the parodies weren’t far behind. And what’s public embarrassment without Stephen Colbert? For one thing, it’s not as fun.
On Wednesday’s The Colbert Report, the comedian performed a spoof of the track, aptly titled “Oopsie Daisie Homophobe." Alan Cumming guests on the track as the LL to Colbert’s Paisley and does one heck of a job of it. The parody’s simplistic lyrics highlight the original insipid ideas about race and class separation and, as with any Colbert production, they make you laugh at the same time. And let’s not forget that little bit of social commentary sprinkled in for good measure – since homophobia is another pressing issue in America today, Colbert managed to kill too birds with one stone, turning Paisley’s head-scratchingly poor judgement into a funny bit of entertainment trivia. Sadly, if you missed it, that’s it. Unlike a lot of videos from The Colbert report, the video isn’t available for streaming on Comedy Central – at least not yet.
Hopefully, that’s enough closure for everybody, who heard the original track and now we can all move on to the next celebrity blunder. Maybe one with fewer tinges of bigotry this time.
It may have just been poor judgement from Paisley, but Colbert turned it into some good entertainment.
