After winning Entertainer of the Year, he couldn't manage a live show.
Garth Brooks has caused quite the storm with fans after he confessed that he lip-synced during his performance at the 2017 CMA Awards last week. Even his fellow country stars are angry about his half-baked routine, especially after he won Entertainer of the Year.

Suspicions that the 55-year-old wasn't giving a live show arose immediately when the performance was broadcast on Wednesday (November 8th 2017), and while he was at least honest about miming during his song 'Ask Me How I Know', nobody was happy about it - especially Miranda Lambert's partner Anderson East.

The country superstar unsurprisingly got the biggest nominations haul, with eight in total.
Miranda Lambert leads the field at the Academy of Country Music Awards with a total of eight nominations, including one for the top prize Entertainer of the Year. The nominations for the 50th annual awards ceremony were announced via Twitter on Friday morning.
31 year old Lambert is something of a crossover phenomenon. She’s currently the reigning Female Vocalist of the Year, and has been picked in the same category again for a ninth year in a row. It’s also her fourth shout in the Entertainer of the Year list. In addition, she’s up for Album of the Year for Platinum and Single Record of the Year, both as an artist and a songwriter, for ‘Automatic’.

'Man Against Machine' was released today (November 11th 2014).
It's been a good thirteen years now, but Garth Brooks has finally returned to his country ways with his ninth studio album. The star has never failed to land a Platinum certification on an album, but could 'Man Against Machine' change things?
'Man Against Machine' is out now
It certainly seems that critics are less enchanted by Garth Brooks' return than they thought they would be. Brooks' hiatus had nothing to do with a waning career; on the contrary, he left on the back of 2001's US Billboard and US Country number one 'Scarecrow'. But it seems country music has changed a lot since then and he seems to have picked up where he left off.

After 13 years in retirement, country music legend, Garth Brooks, finally began his long awaited comeback tour last night in Chicago. Garth Brooks retired from recording and touring in 2001.
According to his pre-show press conference, Brooks joked: "Tonight's show is going to suck. We're all old and slow." This was not the case, however, as he went on to perform songs like 1992's 'Papa Loved Mama', 1995's chart topper 'The Beaches of Cheyenne', 1992's chart topper 'The River', 1990's 'Unanswered Prayers', and his most popular track, 'The Dance' closed the show.

Ding ding! The gloves were off in the land of showbiz this week as squabbles broke out, feathers were ruffled and tensions arose.
Seth Rogen Vs. North Korea: Seth Rogen should be feeling a little nervous right now. The actor and funnyman, who is preparing for the fall release of new movie The Interview, has been threatened after North Korea issued an official complaint to the UN. The shady country raised its hackles over the plot of Rogen's new movie, which depicts a plot to kill dictator Kim Jong-Un. This is unbelievable. If you want to thumb your nose at the Supreme Leader, go giggle at the poster - it's hilarious.
George Clooney Vs. The Daily Mail: George Clooney should only have seating arrangements and wedding cake tasting on his mind at the moment but the Gravity actor has had to engage in battle with The Daily Mail over comments the tabloid made alleging that the mother of Clooney's fiancée, Amal Alamuddin, was not happy with her daughters upcoming nuptials on religious grounds - a claim the actor has called a "lie." Clooney got angry, the Mail apologised, Clooney got angrier.
It turns out when Garth Brooks said he would perform “all or none” of his five shows planned in Ireland, he didn’t mean he wasn’t going to perform. The country legend has now vowed to bypass the Dublin City Council and go straight to the Irish prime minister Enda Kenny to allow him to perform at the Croke Park Stadium.
Brooks vowed to fight
“Don’t sell a show to people and get their hopes up that you’re gonna just cancel on them.” Brooks said at a press conference (quote via The Telegraph.)
