Contact Music: The fusion of Afrobeats and Amapiano in your music is electrifying. How do you approach blending these genres to create your signature sound?
Great Adamz: Blending Afrobeats and Amapiano is all about capturing the energy and vibe of both genres while making them feel seamless. I focus on the infectious rhythms of Afrobeats and the smooth, soulful elements of Amapiano, combining them in a way that feels fresh but also rooted in their rich traditions.
Your upcoming album is highly anticipated. What can fans expect from Blessed Boy in terms of themes and musical direction? You’ve said, “The only time we truly win is when we win together.” How does this philosophy influence your music and career?
The Blessed boy album dropped about a week two weeks ago and have been overwhelmed by the success of the record and how amazing its been received. The central theme of Blessed Boy is about finding strength and power through connection - whether that's with yourself, your community, or the world at large. I believe that no matter the struggles we face individually, we’re always stronger when we lift each other up. It’s that 'win together' philosophy that shapes a lot of what I do, both musically and in my career.
I’ve always felt that the most meaningful success comes when you bring others along with you. Whether it’s collaborating with other artists, giving back to communities, or creating an atmosphere where fans feel like they’re part of something bigger - winning together is at the heart of everything. In my music, you’ll hear that collective energy, the joy of shared experience, and a call to come together and make something beautiful happen. The idea is that when we all win, we create a ripple effect that touches more lives than just our own.
Being part of the MOBO Award Unsung Class of 2022 is a significant achievement. How has that milestone impacted your career?
I was top 20 at the class of 2022 and it was great to get that recognition and to be in the same room with all these amazing artist really fuelled my desire to achieve more. I met people like Crae Wolf who I featured in my track Kilon so this year which was a number one in iTunes Nigeria. The audition process really helped me to learn a lot about my self also later on that year in had my first Tour with the MOBO Unsung team and that was a lot of fun.
With millions of streams and chart success, how do you stay grounded while pursuing your artistic goals?
Staying grounded while experiencing success is something I take really seriously, especially as the world around me changes so quickly. For me, it’s all about remembering why I started in the first place and keeping a strong sense of purpose. Music has always been my way of connecting with others, telling stories, and expressing myself in a way that resonates with people. At the core, it's not about the numbers or the fame; it’s about the impact I can make through my art and how it helps others feel seen and heard.
What do you hope listeners take away from your music, especially tracks like ‘Love Your Neighbour’ and ‘Talk To Me’?
I really hope listeners walk away from my music feeling uplifted, inspired, and more connected to the people around them. Both tracks like "Love Your Neighbour" and "Talk To Me" carry messages that go beyond just the lyrics - they’re about fostering empathy, understanding, and open communication.
With "Love Your Neighbour," the goal is simple: to remind people that kindness, respect, and unity are the most powerful tools we have, especially in a world that can sometimes feel divided. It’s about seeing beyond our differences, embracing the idea that we’re all part of one global family, and that small acts of love and kindness can have a ripple effect. If listeners take away a greater sense of compassion and the motivation to show up for one another, then I’ve done my job.
With such a successful year behind you, what was your proudest moment of 2024?
I have experienced such an amazing year winning multiple awards and having 3 number one songs on iTunes Nigeria this year and Spotify viral charts. however doing my headline show in Northampton 23rd of November seeing that on a stormy day we still managed to have a full house was a massive blessing for me i felt so proud and happy that i could pull such a crowd.
What are your hopes and plans for 2025? Can fans expect more collaborations or live performances?
2025 Will be a year of live performances i want to really perform this album to the world and show people how amazing the album is i will also be on tour at the end of the summer.
