Reaction as techno band Scooter join 2026 Download Festival lineup
Scooter playing Download next year has caused quite the stir on social media.
Techno band Scooter have been added to the lineup for next year's Download Festival - sparking mixed reactions from festival-goers.
The German group, who are known for hits including The Logical Song, Hyper Hyper, How Much Is The Fish?, are set to play the Avalanche Stage at the alternative festival, which returns to Donington Park, Leicestershire, between June 10 to 14.
It comes after countless requests from regulars.
And, while some are all over the new addition, not everyone is on board.
One wrote underneath the festival's announcement on X: "Just when I thought this festival couldn't be any more mediocre, they prove me wrong!"
Another said: "Techno dance act in the arena. Why? Are you gradually trying to turn DL into another Reading festival?"
One user said: "Techno?? Do you have any shame?"
Another penned: "Well played Download."
Others said Scooter should be promoted to the main stage, as it will be "carnage" in the tent.
This year, Download welcomed Dutch Eurodance legends Vengaboys to its District X area, with people flocking to grab the We're Going To Ibiza! hitmakers.
