The Style Council to release unheard material for first time with Cafe Bleu Special Edition
The Style Council are to share unreleased tracks and material for the first time ever on Cafe Bleu Special Edition, an immersive journey into one of Paul Weller's most inventive periods.
The Style Council are releasing unheard tracks and demos for the first time ever.
The You're the Best Thing band – formed by Paul Weller after he dissolved his previous band The Jam in 1982 – are to release the Cafe Bleu Special Edition that will be a treasure trove for devotees.
The Cafe Bleu Special Edition, which takes its name from The Style Council's 1984 debut album Cafe Bleu, provides an immersive journey into one of the most inventive eras of Weller's career.
The release will include a wealth of previously unheard material, including early demos, alternate takes, and unreleased songs that showcase the band's restless drive for experimentation and evolution.
The set also features an extraordinary collection of BBC sessions and live recordings that capture the band in full creative flight.
Completing the package are superb new sleevenotes from the broadcaster and Cafe Bleu champion Gary Crowley, offering new insight into the timeless record's enduring legacy.
The Cafe Bleu Special Edition will be released on January 30, 2026 on Universal Recordings and will be available as a six-CD set and three Vinyl LPs.
