Childhood: Jaden Smith was born in Malibu, California. His parents are rapper turned actor Will Smith and actress Jada Pinkett Smith. His brother Trey Smith and daughter Willow Smith are also actors. He and his siblings are ambassadors for Project Zambia which centres around African children who have been orphaned through AIDS.
Acting career: Jaden Smith made his film debut in 2006's 'The Pursuit of Happyness' as his father's onscreen son. He subsequently won an MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Performance. With Abigail Breslin, he presented two awards at the 79th Academy Awards. In 2008, he appeared in the remake of sci-fi movie 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' alongside Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly. In 2010, he starred in 'The Karate Kid' remake opposite Jackie Chan.
Musical career: Jaden Smith featured on Justin Bieber's song 'Never Say Never' released in 2011. He has since appeared on three more of his tracks. He released his first mixtape 'The Cool Café' in 2012.
