Jada Smith has reacted to a photograph her daughter Willow, aged 13, took whilst on a bed with a 20-year-old actor. The image was posted on actor Moises Arias’ Instagram account and showed Willow lying fully clothed on a bed whilst a shirtless Moises held a pillow behind his head whilst leaning on a wall. The picture has since been deleted due to the comments the image provoked on Twitter.

Willow Smith caused a minor scandal last week when Moises Arias posted a picture of the two on a bed.

Jada spoke to photographers awaiting her arrival at LAX. As TMZ reports, Jada said she was furious with the response from the press which has implied there was a sexual element to the picture. She said “There was nothing sexual about that picture or that situation. You guys are projecting your trash onto it, and you’re acting like covert paedophiles, and that’s not cool.”

Jaden Smith Wants To Be Shia LaBeouf's Friend, Indeed

Jaden Smith Shia LaBeouf

Could there be a friendship brewing between Shia LaBeouf and Jaden Smith? Will Smith’s progeny hopes so – an artist-to-artist kind of thing. Jaden said so in a heartfelt message on Twitter, in which he reached out to the apparently troubled LaBeouf.

Jaden Smith, Pre-Grammy Celebration
LaBeouf's got a friend in Smith, whether he wants to or not.

"I waited in line today on Beverly Blvd to see (Shia LaBeouf) I never got see him but I had a very important message to deliver... It was a message that only could be understood artist to artist... I'm here for you I believe in what your (you are) doing... I'm here if you need a fellow insane person to talk to. But I'm seriously here not like one of those 'I'm here for you's' that everybody says," Smith wrote in a series of tweets.

Jaden Smith Takes On The American Education System, Annoys Americans

Jaden Smith Will Smith

When you’re the son of one of the richest men alive, you can afford to be a bit flippant with your beliefs. That’s why Jaden Smith – son of Will – has begun somewhat of a tirade against the modern education system – something he currently isn’t enrolled in.

He tweeted: “School Is The Tool To Brainwash The Youth” and “If Newborn Babies Could Speak They Would Be The Most Intelligent Beings On Planet Earth,” much to the dismay of right-leaning, middle class Americans, who clearly don’t like this super rich kid telling their rich kids how to think.

“He has such a huge group of fans that really look up to him,” Us Weekly reporter Jennifer Peros told ABC News. “So this isn’t really the example you should really be setting,” she added, assuming that she can determine the kind of example anyone should be setting.

Will Smith Admits To Letting Son Film With Live Snakes For 'After Earth'

Will Smith Jaden Smith

Will Smith admitted to a fathering faux-pas during the premiere of new film After Earth, admitting that he let his son's safety come second during the shooting of a particularly dangerous scene. Will and Jaden were apparently shooting a scene in a tree riddled with poisonous snakes, however Papa Smith decided to shoot the scene with his anyway for the benefit of the film.

After Earth is riddled with monstrous creatures who prey on the Smiths for the majority of the film, however whilst most of the animals used in the flick are CGI creations, there were a few real props in the film that made the danger in some scenes very real indeed. Certain scenes were shot in the jungles of Costa Rica, including the one snake-ridden scene where Will and Jaden were confronted with real-live poisonous snakes.

"There are these snakes called fer-de-lances, and a fer-de-lance is the second most poisonous snake on Earth. We had snake wranglers on the set, six guys (who) would just walk around all the time and go ... thump!" Will said. "So there was a scene, and the snake wrangler came over and said, 'You know the tree that Jaden's about to do the shot in? We got, uh, a few snakes ... 'I said, 'Well, like two?' He said, 'We got ... maybe five today. You know, there's other trees. Jaden comes on the set and I was like, 'Well, let's just roll, we're here. Jaden, quick, just get up there, just get the scene! Now that I think about it, we shouldn't have done a couple of those shots."

Box Office Preview: Woefully Reviewed 'After Earth' Will Struggle For No.1

Will Smith Jaden Smith Sony Fox Jj Abrams

The Will and Jaden Smith starring After Earth - which may well be M. Night Shymalan's worst ever movie - should pull in between $35-40 million at the box-office this weekend, though it won't be enough to secure the top spot in its debut week, says Andrew Stewart at Variety.

Sony entrusted over $100 million in Shymalan and The Smiths to make the sci-fi action movie, though reviews have been woeful with one critic opining on whether it may be the worst film ever made. Though a $40 million haul would leave studio executives pretty pleased, failing to secure the top spot will be concerning. That should go to Universal's fabulous 'Fast and Furious 6' with takings of around $50 million. The latest movie in the action franchise is among the best reviewed mainstream movies of the year and should bring its 10-day total to a quite miraculous $175 million.

Will Smith's ‘After Earth,’ Dubbed ‘The Worst Movie Ever Made’

Will Smith Jaden Smith Jada Pinkett-Smith M. Night Shyamalan

After Earth, the new sci-fi adventure starring father and son team Will and Jaden Smith, has been savaged by critics ahead of its release today (May 31, 2013). Though the premise has the makings of a reasonable sci-fi movie – two guys stranded on earth years after civilization – somewhere along the line something has gone very, very wrong. Perhaps the blame lies with M. Night Shyamalan, a director who is on an uncomfortably bad run with the critics that shows no signs of slowing up.

The movie follows Will Smith as Cypher Raige, a stern general who is tasked with a peacekeeping mission on earth, one thousand years after humanity settled elsewhere. Under the general’s stewardship is a young teenager named Kitai – also his son – who helps with the mission though all too regularly finds himself in trouble with the various beasts that still inhabit earth.

Holding a dismal score of just 12% on Rotten Tomatoes, After Earth has come in for some heavy, heavy criticism. Sure, the critics may be having their usual fun with Shyamalan (The Last Airbender etc) though there really isn't a positive word to be found. Joe Morgensten of the Wall Street Journal asked, “Is "After Earth" the worst movie ever made?” while Betsy Sharkey of the L.A. Times wrote, “There is no small irony that this sci-fi action adventure is about surviving a serious crash. The scorched earth left behind by "After Earth" is sure to leave a scar on everyone involved.”

"After Earth" - Will And Jaden Smith's Father Son Movie With A Science Fiction Twist

Will Smith Jaden Smith

Will Smith’s newest endeavor should have geeks far and wide jumping for joy – or maybe just a bit nervous? The former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is taking on science fiction this time with his son Jayden – as Cypher Raige and his son, Kitai Raige, respectively. Cypher, the General of Nova Prime's Ranger Corps is a war hero, one of few men who can "ghost," or shut out fear during combat against alien creatures called Ursas.

Clearly, it’s one ambitious project. Add the name of M. Night Shyamalan gives the film, which hits theatres this weekend, gives the whole thing huge potential for success – and probably equal chances of failure. What makes us hopeful is that this isn’t the first time Smith Sr. and Jr. will be portraying the father-son dynamic on screen. Then again, their remake of Karate Kid didn’t exactly have a stellar reception.

The New York premiere of Will Smith's new action movie 'After Earth' was almost like a reunion for the actor as several old friends showed up to offer their support.

The event was truly a field day for photographers with celebrities from Wyclef Jean to Bruce Willis making their appearances on the red carpet. Will Smith was the star attraction alongside his son and co-star Jaden Smith, and he also brought along his other two children Willow Smith and Trey Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith. Joining them were 'After Earth' director M. Night Shyamalan (the man behind 'The Sixth Sense' and 'The Village'), Smith's co-star Kristofer Hivju, Oscar-nominated director Spike Lee and rapper 50 Cent. There was even an appearance from Smith's former 'The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air' co-star Alfonso Ribeiro, who played Will's rich and very spoilt cousin Carlton Banks. Another notable attendee was genuine NASA astronaut Buzz Aldrin, best known for being the second man to walk on the moon in 1969.

'After Earth' Reviews – We Predict A Rotten 23%

Will Smith Jaden Smith M. Night Shyamalan

After Earth has all the ingredients for a bad film, doesn’t it? You’ve got the father-son partnership between Will Smith and Jaden in yet another post-apocalyptic dystopian vision of earth, and it’s from hit-and-miss director M. Night Shyamalan.

So when it came to predicting a score on film aggregator site, Rotten Tomatoes, we thought it would be a pretty easy task – we’ll just slap a 24% on this potential pile of steaming mess and pop the kettle on; knock up a strong coffee. That wouldn’t be fair, though, so we’ve decided to look at the reviews, which, for After Earth, could be like getting your gas and electricity meter checked and risking a bigger bill.

Watch the After Earth trailer:

1000 years have passed since humans walked the earth. Kitai Raige (Jaden) and his father Cypher (Will) crash land on the now isolated planet, and are forced to survive despite a pretty serious injury to Cypher. Not the worst plot of all time, but has it been executed well? “A trite sci-fi adventure that's probably too intense for younger viewers and not sophisticated enough for adults,” say Screen International. Oh dear, that’s not a good start. “You'll spend much of your time waiting for it to be after After Earth, waiting for that respite brought about by the damn thing finally getting to its silly, telegraphed point,” write Twitch. That’s not good either.

Will Smith And Son Jaden Surprise School Children At London City Hall

Will Smith Jaden Smith Boris Johnson

Schoolchildren from across London gathered in the City Hall on Friday (May 24) for mayor Boris Johnson's Leadership Clubs programme - which offer extra-curricular activities for 10 to 14-year-olds - only to be treated to an appearance from none other than Hollywood star Will Smith! Will wasn't alone though as he brought his son Jaden along with him to talk with the kids about staying out of trouble, supporting the arts and their new film After Earth.

As is the norm, Bozza decided to make a fool of himself when he revealed to the Smiths that he had written his own rap song, telling them that he had written a rap for the Queen's jubilee. He said: "My first rap, I haven’t really set it to music yet. Perhaps with your help. It was about the Queen’s Jubilee," to which Will jokingly replied: "That [the jubilee] was big in the hip-hop community."

The Mayor of London then took a backseat as Will and Jaden spoke too and entertained the audience, with Jaden busting a few shapes and discussing his main influences to the audience - with rapper Kanye West and William Shakespeare being name checked by the 14-year-old. He also discussed the perks of working with his father, telling the audience, "if you ever need anything on set, you can just walk over and ask him [Will]. He's like a walking dictionary. Any time I'm lost or anything, I can just ask him."

Jaden Smith On Emancipation: "I'm Staying In This House For 30 Years!"

Jaden Smith Will Smith Jada Pinkett-Smith Ellen Degeneres

Remember that whole Jaden Smith wants to be emancipated from his millionaire parents thing? Yeah, he was joking - he's not going anywhere. Following reports that the 14-year-old had told parents Will Smith and Jada-Pinkett Smith he wanted his own house for his 15th birthday, Jaden made an appearance on the Ellen Degeneres show on Wednesday and shot down the speculation.

"I just heard you are trying to become emancipated, is that right?" the talk show host asked Jaden. "See, here is the thing that you need to understand - I'm not going anywhere," he replied, "The thing that people don't get is everything at this house is free. So I can get anything and everything at his house so I'm going to be there 20, 30 more years."

Jaden stars alongside his father in new sci-fi movie After Earth and he concedes that things may change once his film career takes off. "He says as soon as I have a movie that's bigger than one of his movies, I can get my own house," Jaden joked. It's probably going to difficult for the 14-year-old to achieve that feat anytime soon - Will is easily in the top five movie stars in the world - though in 10 years who knows?

Jaden Smith Tells Father Will He Wishes To Be Emancipated For 15th Birthday

Jaden Smith Will Smith

Jaden Smith is flying the coop. The young Hollywood star has told father Will Smith that he wants to be emancipated from the family for his 15th birthday. The father-son duo have been in Seoul, South Korea, for the premiere of their new sci-fi movie After Earth and Will says he understands that his son wants his own independence.

"(Jaden) says, 'Dad, I want to be emancipated.' I know if we do this, he can be an emancipated minor, because he really wants to have his own place, like ooh," Will told The Sun. His teenage son has built a solid career in Hollywood despite his young age and has collaborated with Justin Bieber, starred in movies, started his own fashion label and won a Teen Choice Award. "If kids just want to have command of their lives, I understand," he said.

"We generally don't believe in punishment. From the time Jaden was five or six we would sit him down, and all he has to do is be able to explain why what he did was the right thing for his life," Smith added on his parenting techniques.

Like Father Like Son - Jayden Smith Wants Independence

Will Smith Jaden Smith

When we say ‘like father like son’, we actually mean, 'like father’s character as The Fresh Prince of Bel Air like son’. Will Smith’s son, Jaden Smith is craving independence now that he’s 15.

Check out the After Earth Trailer here

“He says, ‘Dad, I want to be emancipated.’ I know if we do this, he can be an emancipated minor, because he really wants to have his own place, like ooh,” explained Smith (senior) to The Sun. “That’s the backlash. On the other side, if kids just want to have command of their lives, I understand.” We don’t think Jayden has really thought this one through. He’ll miss having his sheets washed and the hot food put on the table everyday. Then again, as a little millionaire, he can probably get all that stuff arranged. The father and son pair are forging quite the on-screen partnership; they’re set to build upon The Pursuit of Happiness by starring together in After Earth, a post-apocalyptic movie, directed by M Night Shyamalan. “It’s very similar for Jaden and me — your father’s the biggest movie star in the world, and you’re struggling for your little piece of dignity in this extreme shadow,” explains Will.

Quvenzhane Wallis To Take On Title Role In The Upcoming Annie Remake

Quvenzhane Wallis Will Smith Jay Z Willow Smith Jaden Smith Will Gluck

Quvenzhane Wallis will follow-up her Oscar nominated role in Beasts of the Southern Wild by taking on the lead role in the remake of the classic musical Annie, Sony Pictures Entertainment announced yesterday morning (Feb 24).

The young actress wowed audiences with her award-worthy performance as Hushpuppy in the Benh Zeitlin fantasy drama, and now the actress is reaping the benefits of her mature performance by signing up to her second post-BotSW role. Wallis will also star alongside Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender in the upcoming Twelve Years a Slave, which follows the story of a New York man kidnapped and sold into slavery in the South in the early 1800's.

Will Gluck, who directed Friends With Benefits, is already attached to directed the remake, which is being financed by Will Smith, Jay Z, Jada Pinkett Smith, James Lassiter and Tyran Smith. Will and Jada's daughter Willow Smith was initially rumoured to be taking on the lead role, but it seems the appeal of having an Oscar nominee star in the film was too much for Will, who will be appearing alongside his son Jaden in the upcoming After Earth.

After Earth Trailer: Will Smith Teams Up With Son Jaden (Video)

Will Smith Jaden Smith M. Night Shyamalan

The trailer for M Night Shyamalan's 'After Earth' has hit the web, giving fans a sneak preview of the disaster-epic that sees Kitai Raige (Jaden Smith) and his father Cypher (Will Smith) stranded on Earth, 1,000 years after cataclysmic events forced humanity to escape.

Cypher is critically injured in a crash landing, leaving his son to embark on a perilous journey to find help. Along the way, he encounters dangerous animal species that rule the planet and a seemingly unstoppable alien creature. The father-and-son team must work together to leave the planet and return home. Awash with slick CGI, the trailer all looks very Avatar with a sprinkling of The Hunger Games for good measure. It's seemingly got everything that a blockbuster movie needs in the modern era, nice visuals, an epic story, scary beasts and Will Smith - however, it's directed by Shayamalan, which is a worry. If After Earth has the entertainment value of The Sixth Sense or Signs then there's no need to worry, but the director's last three movies Lady In The Water, The Happening and The Last Airbender have all been nominated for Worst Picture and Worst Director at the infamous Razzies (winning both for the latter). His bad movie form was all too much for a couple of fans who set up a fundraising campaign to send him back to film school in 2011. Copywriter and author Chris Baker told Entertainment Weekly that he came up with the idea after seeing the trailer for Devil, which featured a title card reading, "from the mind of M. Night Shyamalan" - a potentially scary place.

It's unsurprising that Academy Award winning screenwriter Stephen Gaghan (Traffic, Syriana) was brought in to polish Shaymalan's script for After Earth, but anyway, the trailer looks pretty nice, if a little unoriginal, but we'll wait for the full release. It hits theaters on June 7, 2013.

After Earth Trailer

Cypher Raige is a renowned military general who finds himself and his frightened 13-year-old son Kitai in the middle of a deadly asteroid storm while on their aircraft on the way to their home planet Nova Prime to see their family. When they are hit, they end up crashing on to a dangerous and quarantined planet that is revealed to be Earth 1000 years after mankind was evacuated following a set of global disasters. Now it is almost entirely a jungle with savage evolved creatures roaming the land, but Kitai must brave the danger and remember that his fear is only in his mind as he treks into the wild to recover a distress beacon that he must use to call for help as his father is in a critical condition and close to death after being thrown across the ship in the crash. Little do they know that the unfamiliar new earthling species are not the only danger they must face as a brutal alien has now escaped onto the forgotten planet.

'After Earth' has had a string of different screenwriters working on it including director M. Night Shyamalan ('The Sixth Sense', 'Signs', 'The Last Airbender'), Stephen Gaghan ('Traffic', 'Rules of Engagement'), Gary Whitta ('The Book of Eli') plus additional dialogue from Michael Soccio who has previously worked with star Will Smith when he wrote four episodes of 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air'. This sci-fi adventure is set to hit cinemas in the UK from June 7th 2013.

Starring: Will Smith, Jaden Smith, Isabelle Fuhrman, Zoe Kravitz, Sophie Okonedo, Kristofer Hivju, David Denman, Sacha Dhawan, Lincoln Lewis, Chris Geere,

Will Smith And Jaden Smith Star In 2013's 'After Earth'- Trailer

Will Smith Jaden Smith M. Night Shyamalan

Who doesn't love a good end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it movie? No one. Everyone loves end-of-the-world movies, that includes zombies, post-apocalypse, nature taking over, unexplained events, or even films like Wall-E (one of the best Pixar movies to date), which envisions Earth-post humanity.

Will Smith is pretty much the king of this genre, having starred in Independence Day, I Am Legend, and three Men in Black movies, all of which tackle the prospect of a disastrous alien invasion. His latest offering to this genre is After Earth, which doesn't actually seem to examine how humans died out, but how humans may be able to cope on a version of Earth that is made for the destruction of our race, rather than vice versa.

The trailer for After Earth has finally been released. Once again Will Smith joins forces with his young son Jaden as a father and son fighting the realities of (a version of) life (as in The Pursuit of Happyness). The official synopsis explains that the pair's flight vehicle is damaged while traversing the universe causing them to crash land on Earth, the planet our race was forced to flea. As Cypher (Will) is injured at the craft, Kitai (Jaden) is forced to navigate the alien land to save them both. Sounds exciting? It looks it too.

The Karate Kid Review

Good
Even though it's corny, unnecessary and far too long, this remake of the 1984 hit is surprisingly engaging. This is mainly due to the crowd-pleasing story and a relatively understated performance from Jackie Chan.

Dre (Smith) is annoyed when his mother (Henson) moves from Detroit to Beijing, where he's mercilessly bullied by a gang of schoolboy thugs led by Cheng (Wang Zhenwei). Sure, there's the cute violinist (Han) to distract him, but things don't really start looking up until the maintenance man (Chan) agrees to teach him kung fu. Now Dre has three goals: learn skills to defend himself, compete in an upcoming tournament against Cheng and his evil mentor (Yu), and of course get the girl.

The Pursuit Of Happyness Review

Very Good
There is a part of The Pursuit of Happyness -- most of the last third, honestly -- that is just plain too bleak. It's taking an eternally optimistic guy just trying to scrape by and doing more than making things rough for him; it's kicking him in the crotch and spitting on him, and maybe humiliating him a little bit. It's some really holiday good cheer.

Chris Gardner (Will Smith) is one of those downtrodden guys for whom better times are always just around the next corner. He's a salesman, hawking some over-priced and under-used equipment to hospitals around San Francisco. What Chris wants is a better life for his family, his angry and overworked wife Linda (Thandie Newton, unconvincing with her brittle, bottled up range) and his delectably cute five-year-old Christopher (played by Smith's real-life son Jaden -- or, as he's loftily billed in the credits, Jaden Christopher Syre Smith). And the idea he latches onto, because it does not require a college education, but could still pay off big time, is to become a stockbroker.
