Cameron Diaz (born 30.8.1972)
Cameron Diaz is a popular American actress, possibly best known for her role in There's Something About Mary.
Childhood: Cameron Diaz was born in San Diego, California, to Billie and Emilio Diaz. Her mother was an import / export agent and her father worked as a Field Gauger for an oil company. His family had moved to the USA from Spain, via Cuba. Cameron's mother is of English, Cherokee and German descent. Cameron has an older sister, Chimene.
As a teenager, Cameron Diaz attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School. The rapper Snoop Dogg was also a pupil at the school.
Modelling Career: Cameron Diaz became a fashion model at the age of 16, when she signed up to Elite Model Management, one of the top agencies in the USA. The company is run by John Casablancas, father of Julian Casablancas, the lead singer of The Strokes. Diaz modelled for a number of big-name designers, including Calvin Klein and Levi's. In 1990, she was also pictured on the cover of Seventeen magazine.
Acting Career: An agent from Elite met the producers of the film The Mask when they were searching for the female lead. Despite having no acting experience, Diaz auditioned for the role and when her audition was successful, she immediately started acting lessons. She starred in the film, alongside Jim Carrey and the movie became a huge global success.
Following the release of The Mask, Diaz landed a series of roles in small, independent films such as The Last Supper, which also starred Courtney B. Vance and Feeling Minnesota, which starred Keanu Reeves and Courtney Love. She also featured in She's The One along with Jennifer Aniston and Edward Burns.
Cameron's real foray into the mainstream came with her role in My Best Friend's Wedding, which also starred Julia Roberts and Rupert Everett. Following this was the Farrelly brothers' There's Something About Mary, which has become renowned for a scene in which Diaz places bodily fluids in her hair, mistakenly thinking that it is hair gel. Diaz was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in the film, which also featured Ben Stiller, Matt Dillon and Lee Evans.
Diaz also gained a great deal of critical praise for her role in Being John Malkovich, a Spike Jonze film which starred John Cusack and, unsurprisingly, John Malkovich.
More hits came for Diaz, in the form of A Life Less Ordinary, the Danny Boyle film that starred Ewan McGregor, as well as the updated adaptation of Charlie's Angels, which starred Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu as her fellow Angels and Bill Murray as Charlie.
Cameron Diaz won a 2001 Golden Globe nomination for her role in Vanilla Sky, the Cameron Crowe film that also starred Tom Cruise, Penelope Cruz and Jason Lee. That same year, she provided the voice for the animated movie Shrek, which became a huge global phenomenon.
Diaz's next Golden Globe nomination came for her role in Martin Scorsese's Gangs of New York, the full-length epic that starred Daniel Day Lewis and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Cameron Diaz earned a reported $20 million for her role in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle and following that release, she returned to Shrek 2 as well as appearing in the less successful In Her Shoes and The Holiday. In 2007, she also appeared in Shrek The Third. The film also featured Justin Timberlake, who she was dating at the time.
Cameron Diaz starred opposite Ashton Kutcher in What Happens In Vegas.
Personal Life: Cameron Diaz suffers with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
Diaz dated the actor Matt Dillon, for three years until 1998. She was also once engaged to Jared Leto, but they broke up in 2002. She then went on to date Justin Timberlake, whom she met in 2003. They split officially in 2007.
In 2009, an announcement was made that Cameron Diaz is to have a star on the Hollywood walk of Fame.
Cameron Diaz has discovered that marriage is a "double-edged sword".
The 43-year-old actress wed Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden in January 2015 and the pair appear to be happier than ever. As she appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday (05May16) to promote her new tome The Longevity Book: The Science of Aging, the Biology of Strength, and the Privilege of Time, Cameron spoke about how much her relationship has changed her as a person.
"I do think that marriage, when you can grow with someone, it’s very important," Cameron said. "Someone asked me, 'What’s your favourite thing about being married?' and I said, 'I just learned so much about myself. I didn’t know these things. I would have never known them if I didn’t have my husband to help me'.
"And they said, 'What’s the worst thing about being married?' It’s like, 'Well, I learned all these things about myself that I wish I didn’t know. And I wouldn’t have learned them if I didn’t get married.' So it’s like this double-edged sword."

Robbie Williams won back now-wife Ayda Field after a heart-to-heart with Cameron Diaz.
The couple has been together since 2006 and got married in 2010. During their courtship, they had several brief splits but Ayda credits Hollywood star Cameron for reuniting them after their final break-up.
"When we were first going out, a couple of months in we had a break up - well, we had a couple actually," Ayda said during her appearance on British show Loose Women on Wednesday (27Apr16). "But this was the final one. We were broken up, I was shooting a show and he went out to the Chateau Marmont, which is this very fancy hotel in L.A., and Cameron Diaz was there. And he said that he was talking to her and while he was talking to her, she said to him, 'You obviously still love your girlfriend, you need to go back to her.' And he called me that night, we met up and we've been together ever since."
Robbie and Ayda are now parents to two children - three-year-old Theodora and 18-month-old Charlton. But Ayda will always remember Cameron's involvement in her relationship.

Drew Barrymore is determined not to let her two daughters become child stars.
The Never Been Kissed actress shares Olive, three, and 23-month-old Frankie with estranged husband Will Kopelman, whom she split from in March (16).
While the American star was once one of Hollywood's most recognised child actresses, thanks to her breakout role as Gertie in 1982's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Drew does not want her girls to follow in her footsteps.
"I'd never let them become child actors," she told U.S. Good Housekeeping magazine, adding she freely admits to being a strict parent. "They'll have a chastity belt, a tracker system, no cell phones and we'll live in the middle of nowhere..."

Cameron Diaz believes people are at risk of losing themselves if they focus solely on their appearance.
The 43-year-old actress is an advocate of self-love and confidence, having launched tomes The Body Book: The Law of Hunger, the Science of Strength, and Other Ways to Love Your Amazing Body and her latest release, The Longevity Book. In a new interview with Women's Health UK magazine, Cameron continued to spread her powerful message; that looks aren't everything in life.
"We live in a very self-obsessed, narcissistic society, and it's focused on superficial, it's focused on what we see in the mirror, instead of what is on the inside," she sighed. "If all we're concentrating on is what we see in the mirror, it's very dangerous. We're going to get very lost."
Cameron speaks from experience, having begun her career as a model before making her movie debut in 1994's The Mask. A lot has changed over the years, though the blonde star has embraced every moment of getting older in the spotlight.

U.S. talk show host Andy Cohen thought Cameron Diaz had soiled herself at an Oscars viewing party in February (16).
Andy and Cameron were invited to chat show host Jimmy Fallon's home for an intimate Oscars viewing party, and the group had turned the lights off and were ready to play the ceremony when Cameron noticed a bad smell in the room.
The trio eventually discovered Jimmy's dog had pooped behind the couch, and that Andy had unwittingly stepped in it. It was only recently that Cameron found out Andy originally thought she was the source of the odour.
"I ran into Andy on the street the other night... He goes, 'remember when I thought you s**t... you pooped, your pants?!'" she said, accidentally swearing, on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. "He totally blamed it on me!

Actress Cameron Diaz was shocked to discover close pal Gwyneth Paltrow didn't know how to blow dry her own hair.
The Gangs of New York star has shared plenty of tips on beauty, health and lifestyle in tomes The Body Book and new follow-up, The Longevity Book, but it seems even Oscar winner Gwyneth, 43, who has her own successful lifestyle website, Goop, has needed some advice from her pal Cameron.
"(Gwyneth) was like, ‘I never blew out my hair, like, I don’t know how to do my own hair and make-up,’ and I was like, ‘Girl, after all these years, you have to know how to do this, you know?'” she told Andy Cohen on his Sirius XM Radio Andy show. “So I showed her how to do a quick blowout on her own hair, and she was like, ‘That’s it?’ I was like, ‘That’s it’.
"She’s like, ‘I can do that!’ I was like, ‘Of course you can! It’s easy, because we have all these other jobs that we have to do that we leave that to other people, but it’s really not that difficult to do yourself.'”

Cameron Diaz doesn't remember her past relationships because her ex-boyfriends don't compare to her husband Benji Madden.
The Charlie's Angels star has had a number of famous partners including Jared Leto, Justin Timberlake, and Matt Dillon, but her memories of her previous relationships have washed away now that she has found "real love" with the Good Charlotte star, who she married in January (15) after a whirlwind romance.
"You know, nothing matters now that I have my husband," she tells Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM radio special. "Like, I don't even remember any of that. All of that is like, that's the thing, that's how I know he's my husband... No one compares. Everything else just like washes and slips away.
"You realize like, 'Oh this is like the real thing is. This is what real love is. This is what real commitment and devotion is. This is the person you build your life with.'"
