Why has Billie Eilish's mother thanked Justin Bieber?
Billie Eilish's mother Maggie Baird thanked Justin Bieber for serenading her daughter and making a "dream come true" at Coachella on Saturday (18.04.26).
Billie Eilish's mother Maggie Baird has thanked Justin Bieber for serenading her daughter at Coachella.
The Sorry hitmaker pulled superfan Billie onto the stage at the California festival on Saturday night (18.04.26) and she sat in a chair while Justin sang her his track One Less Lonely Girl in a nod to their first meeting at Coachella in 2019.
Billie's mom has now shared pictures and video footage from the festival, which showed the Birds of a Feather singer in floods of tears as she prepared for the big moment, and Maggie thanked Justin for showing such "kindness" to her daughter.
In a post on Instagram, she wrote: "One of the most touching moments ever.
"It sounds crazy, but we watch our children develop these deep deep connections to artists who move them and usually there’s nothing in our power to do.
"But we buy them records and maybe buy them a ticket to a concert (or a movie of a concert in our case because we couldn’t afford to see an actual concert).
"Watching this crazy unimaginable dream come true over many years is so incredible. I’m so grateful to Justin Bieber for the kindness he has shown Billie and to our whole family and to [Justin's wife] Hailey who makes so many things wonderful and possible."
Justin, 32, headlined the second weekend of the festival and packed his set with surprises for the crowd, with the Baby star bringing out SZA for a performance of Snooze, while he also sang with Sexyy Red on Sweet Spot and Big Sean on both As Long As You Love Me and No Pressure.
Among the highlights of Justin's YouTube section - which featured lengthier clips than the previous weekend's show - was him singing along to a young-aged cover of himself performing Justin Timberlake's Cry Me A River.
The singer appeared more upbeat than the weekend before and even went into the crowd while performing Speed Demon.
At one point, he warned his "adrenaline is through the roof" and he might have trouble talking to the crowd because of the people around him, but the hordes of screaming fans didn't seem to mind.
The set list changed slightly from the weekend before, with the soulful Lyin' making an appearance from the weekend before, while an acoustic version of Mother In You was enjoyed by the audience at Coachella.
