Lady Gaga hit with respiratory infection
Lady Gaga cancelled her Montreal concert after being advised by her doctor not to perform due to a respiratory infection.
Lady Gaga pulled out of her show in Montreal after coming down with a respiratory infection.
She was due to play her third night at the Bell Centre on Monday (06.04.26) but was told by her doctor not to perform.
She announced the cancellation on her Instagram Story just hours before she was set to take the stage.
In her post, Gaga told fans she’d been battling the illness for several days and had been trying to rest, but her condition had worsened.
She said she’d been “strongly advised” not to go ahead with the show and admitted she wouldn’t have been able to deliver the performance fans deserved.
She apologised to everyone who had made plans to attend, saying she felt “heartbroken” to let people down.
The Born This Way singer said: "Hi everyone, I’m so sorry to share that I’m unable to perform tonight and have to cancel the show. I've been fighting a respiratory infection for the past few days and doing everything I can to rest and recover, but it’s gotten worse.
"My doctor has strongly advised me not to perform today and to be honest I don’t think I could give you the quality of a performance today that you deserve."
Gaga added that her earlier shows in Montreal had been “magical and deeply meaningful”, making the cancellation even harder.
She went on: "I know how deeply disappointing this is, and I truly could not feel worse about letting you down. I’m so sorry to everyone who made plans to be there and support me.
"Being in Montreal and performing for you on Thursday and Friday was magical and deeply meaningful. To everyone who was coming tonight, I’m absolutely heartbroken and so sorry."
The singer kicked off her Mayhem Ball Tour in the US last July and previously admitted she hadn’t expected to tour again so soon.
She explained that she hadn’t planned to hit the road after her Singapore shows, but the reaction to her new album inspired her to keep going.
Gaga said the tour came together quickly thanks to Arthur Fogel and the Live Nation team, who managed to build a global run in just a few weeks.
She chose arenas this time so she could control every detail of the production, promising a theatrical, electrifying show designed to bring Mayhem to life exactly as she envisioned it.
