NASA astronauts crack up after Chappell Roan wake‑up song cuts out mid‑mission
NASA’s Orion crew were left laughing when their morning wake‑up track abruptly stopped during a live broadcast of the lunar mission.
NASA’s Orion crew were left laughing during their latest lunar livestream after their morning wake‑up track — Chappell Roan’s Pink Pony Club — abruptly stopped before it even reached the chorus.
During Saturday’s (04.06.26) broadcast, Mission Control played the pop star’s 2023 anthem to rouse the astronauts aboard Orion.
But the song cut out barely a minute in, leaving the crew hanging and prompting Commander Reid Wiseman to jokingly call out the glitch.
He said: “We were all eagerly awaiting the chorus."
The Capsule Communicator promised they would “try again next time”, before wishing the team a good morning and outlining the day’s plan.
Wiseman is part of a four‑astronaut team that left Earth’s orbit on April 2 for a landmark journey to explore parts of the moon no human has ever seen before — one of NASA’s most ambitious steps toward future lunar exploration.
Meanwhile, Chappell Roan has faced controversy off‑planet after a recent incident involving a young fan in Brazil.
Footballer Jorginho claimed his 11‑year‑old stepdaughter Ada — whose father is actor Jude Law — was left in tears after an “aggressive and intimidating” security guard allegedly accused her of “harassing” the singer when she tried to glimpse her idol at a hotel breakfast in São Paulo.
Chappell later released a video denying the guard was acting on her behalf, and her team issued a further statement to clarify the situation.
They said: “Chappell was not aware of any interaction between this mother/daughter and a third-party security officer.
"She did not see them at breakfast in her hotel, as she said in her video.
"She did not direct her personal security or anyone on her team to interact with them.
"Chappell holds her own teams to the highest standards and has zero tolerance for any kind of aggressive behaviour towards her or her fans.”
