Huey Morgan has departed his BBC Radio 6 Music show after 17 years.

The broadcaster, best known as the former frontman of Fun Lovin’ Criminals, has been a staple of the station’s weekend schedule since launching The Huey Show in October 2008. Over nearly two decades, Morgan built a loyal audience with his eclectic mix of soul, funk, hip‑hop, rock ’n’ roll, and deep‑cut discoveries. This signature style helped cement his programme as one of 6 Music’s most distinctive offerings.

BBC 6 Music has not given a reason for his departure, and Morgan has yet to issue his own statement. However, the announcement marks the end of one of the network’s longest-running presenter stints, and arrives during a period of wider schedule changes across the BBC’s radio portfolio.

A statement read: “Huey Morgan has decided to leave 6 Music and his last show will be on Saturday 27th December. We would like to thank Huey for being part of the 6 Music family for 17 years, and for bringing us all such a brilliant soundtrack to our Saturday mornings. We will miss him and wish him the very best for the future.”

Morgan’s final show will air on Saturday (27.12.25), closing a chapter that has seen him evolve from musician‑turned‑DJ into one of the station’s most recognisable voices.

Alongside Morgan’s exit, the BBC also confirmed that fellow long‑serving presenter Nick Bright will be leaving his 1Xtra show as part of the same round of changes.

No successor for The Huey Show has yet been announced, but 6 Music is expected to reveal its updated weekend lineup in the coming weeks.
