Swedish pop icon Robyn's first album in seven years is seemingly around the corner.

The news was revealed by producer Klas Åhlund, Robyn’s longtime collaborator, during an appearance on Per Nordmark’s Nordmark Pod last week.

Speaking in Swedish, Åhlund shared that the project is complete.

As translated by Stereogum, he said: “Just finished a new Robyn album that’s coming out.

“Super exciting! Very proud of it.”

Åhlund has worked with Robyn across multiple eras, including her critically acclaimed Body Talk series and the 2018 album Honey.

In 2022, Robyn cancelled her performances at Way Out West, Bergen Fest, and PiPfest, while simultaneously teasing her new album and plans to tour it.

A statement about the cancelled festival slots added: "But there are many exciting things to come and even though it is taking a little longer, I can’t wait to reunite with you as soon as my new album is ready.

“I’ve missed playing for you so much and I’m still planning to go back on tour as soon as I can. All my love, Robyn.”

The follow-up to Honey has been several years in the making.

Noting the lengthy gaps between her records, Robyn said in 2020: "There are leftovers. Some of them I'm going to record this summer, I hope.

"Usually, I finish songs. If I start them, I finish them.

"The last album took eight years. I hope it won't take that long next time."

Although fans are still waiting for solo music from Robyn, the Dancing On My Own hitmaker teamed up with Swedish duo Smile on the track Call My Name in 2021, and appeared on a remix of Charli xcx’s 360 with Yung Lean in 2024.
