Sabrina Carpenter told Taylor Swift her 'Eras Tour' "enabled" her to do her own 'Short n' Sweet Tour'.

The 'Taste' singer was one of the opening acts on the 35-year-old Grammy winner's stadium jaunt and explained how the living-room style shows showed her it's possible to make an arena gig feel more intimate for her fans.

In a new cover interview with Vogue magazine, Sabrina explained: “Her stadiums make my shows look like clubs. Watching her keep their attention as if she’s playing in their living room, it was like — and I told her this — ‘Your tour enabled me to do mine.’”

Sabrina is known to interact on a personal level with gig-goers, including having therapy-style discussions with them and making them feel like they are a part of the show.

Elsewhere, the 25-year-old pop star admitted she had to persuade her record label to release 'Espresso' as the lead single from 2024's 'Short n' Sweet' instead of 'Please Please Please'.

She said: “There’s something about this song that, if I’d never heard it before, and I heard it live for the first time, I would understand it. I was definitely being swayed in another direction, but I knew deep down that it was this song. I was afraid of disappointing people for, like, five minutes. And then I was like: ‘No.’”

Sabrina always knew she wanted her music to come from her own "point of view".

She said: “I had a lot of ideas musically, and for the one thing that pulls it all together to be my point of view. That was the one thing that I knew.”

The 'Bed Chem' singer added that she has always refused to be pigeonholed as an artist, despite people telling her she would have to "stay in your lane" to be a success.

She confessed: “I’m such a stubborn little spit.

“I remembered growing up, and a lot of people telling me: You have to stay in your lane and pick your genre, otherwise you’re not a cohesive artist and you don’t know who you are. And that always bugged me.”

Sabrina recently reflected on the "small baby steps" she took to get to the top of her game.

Despite being in the music industry for a decade, Sabrina was nominated for Best New Arist at this year’s Grammy Awards after mega-hit ‘Espresso’ went viral last year.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Sabrina said: “I’ve always been true to myself and believed in my work since I was young.

“I’ve realised that it’s always been about the small baby steps that you take over time to get you to this point.”

Sabrina has been wowing fans across the globe on her ‘Short n’ Sweet Tour’ and she will bring the jaunt to the UK and Ireland and the rest of Europe in March and April.

She said: “I can’t wait to see all of my fans in Europe. There are a couple of cities I haven’t been to in a really long time, so I’m excited to see which crowd is the loudest."
