Sir Paul McCartney has backed a campaign to stop iconic music venues from closing.

The Beatles star has spoke out in support of Labour MP John Spellar's move to introduce a bill in the Commons that will change planning laws and protect music venues from closing.

He said: ''Without the grassroots clubs, pubs and music venues my career could have been very different. If we don't support music at this level, then the future of music in general is in danger.''

Two of the remaining three members of prog-rock legends Pink Floyd have raised the tantalising prospect that the group might finally perform at Glastonbury Festival.

At a press conference for the V&A Museum’s upcoming Pink Floyd retrospective exhibition on Thursday (February 16th), the band’s bass player Roger Waters and drummer Nick Mason made a rare joint appearance in public. Pink Floyd legends Roger Waters and Nick Mason are both up for headlining Glastonbury - but not together.

The two musicians reunited on Thursday (16.02.17) in London to launch the upcoming 'Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains' and were quizzed on whether or not one more great gig beckoned for the psychedelic legends at Michael Eavis' world famous festival, which they never played at as a band.

Roger quit the group back in 1985 citing Pink Floyd as a ''spent force creatively'' and since has only performed with Nick and the other surviving member David Gilmour back in 2005 at the Live 8 charity concert in London, and during Waters' performance of 'The Wall' at The O2 arena in 2011 on a rendition of 'Comfortably Numb'.
