When the Oscar ceremony is over there’s only one place the A-listers want to head - the Vanity Fair after party, of course. This means another chance to show off your fashion prowess as the stars come out again, this time in their best party dresses. So who was the best dressed at this year’s Vanity Fair bash?

First up, Jennifer Lawrence ditched her red carpet Prada to turn heads in this edgy Tom Ford mini dress. Featuring a metallic shattered glass pattern and sheer sides and back, we're not exactly sure what Jennifer could have been wearing underneath this, but we wouldn't like to speculate.

Also causing gasps in metallic was model Miranda Kerr. Perhaps she knew that ex Orlando Bloom was due to arrive, as she turned up in a slinky Kaufmanfranco gown complete with a very sexy pluning neckline. Orlando might want to look away now.

Anne Hathaway changed from her Gucci number into a much less daring custom black and white Viktor & Rolf gown which she accesorised with some black Charlotte Olympia heels. Also making a change was Lupita Nyong'o who had a red carpet triumph earlier with a blue Prada gown. This time she went for a white Mui Mui dress with green fringing at the top. We're not sure that this look really did her justice, but at least she had the ultimate accessory, her best supporting actress Oscar.

Kate Hudson managed to wow us twice in one night, this time it was thanks to her Zuhair Murad gown. Mixing black and nude the eye catching dress featured delicate hand beading and well as being perfectly fitted to show off Kate's amazing figure. Also embracing a bit of beading was Selena Gomez who opted for a golden sheer gown with a criss cross neckline.

Bringing some colour to the party was actress Naomie Harris who sizzled in a red Naeem Khan dress. Choosing a paler colour palette was Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who wore an ice blue dress by designer Cushine et Ochs with pearl detailing.

A bit of a goth inspired vibe was channelled by Taylor Swift in her tight long sleeved Julien Macdonald dress that also had a hint of sparkle. The singer also vamped up her make up with a red lips and dark eyes. Also playing it safe in black was Minnie Driver who went for a strapless dress with beading detail and Reese Witherspoon who sported a very plunging neckline.

Keeping up her reputation as one of the coolest actresses in Hollywood, Ellen Page went for a Saint Laurent suit which she finished off with a skinny black tie and a checkered pocket square.

Amy Adams changed from her red carpet blue to a white grecian style one shoulder gown, making it really hard for us to choose which was her best look of the night. Also wearing white was Lady Gaga, who looked as if she might be taking a little too much influence from her friend Donatella Versace, with her heavily cut out dress. However Gaga did manage to bring a touch of vintage glamour with her Veronica Lake style hair.
