Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade are "stressed out" about sending his daughter to college.
Gabrielle Union is "stressed out" about sending her stepdaughter to college.
The 'Idea of You' actress admitted she and her husband Dwyane Wade are feeling "nerves and anxieties" about his 16-year-old daughter Zaya Wade moving away, but she's "so calm" about the whole situation.
She told Entertainment Tonight: "I think she is so calm about it 'cause I think she knows exactly where she wants to go, but I think she's humoring us with seeing what our country has to offer.
"We're stressed out. We're stressed out about her being away from us...
"[Parents all have the] same nerves and anxieties about sending your babies away. It's tough."
The 51-year-old actress joked that her Zaya's ambitions mean she will need to find someone else to help at college.
She teased: "She wants to major in astrobiology, so there's only so much help we can offer, to be honest... I was a Sociology major, [so I'm like,] 'Girl you're on your own.' "
Meanwhile, Gabrielle admitted her and Wade's five-year-old daughter Kaavia has "refused" to watch her famous mother's iconic role in 2000 cheerleader movie 'Bring It On'.
She said: "Honestly, she refuses to watch the whole movie. She's like, 'I get it mom.' She'll watch little clips every now and again.
"She loves dressing up and doing cheers, so that's really all I've gotten, what you've seen. It's cute. It's so cute. She loves to dance and sing and perform and all the things."
Gabrielle previously admitted she was concerned that her "lack of knowledge" on motherhood would be to her detriment.
She told E! News: "I was afraid of being a bad mom, of not living up to the great moms that I grew up with.
"I didn't want my lack of understanding or knowledge on every single thing to leave this gaping hole in her life.
"As I got more confidence, I'm like, 'Oh, we're all winging it? We're just doing the best we can."
