Up and comer Afie Jurvanen, or Bahamas as he is better known, will be debuting his first single 'Caught Me Thinking' on April 30th from his debut album Barchords through Brushfire/Island Records as well as releasing a video to go with it that displays his extensive hat collection. The Toronto based singer/songwriter and former guitarist/pianist for Feist will be releasing his second album, a follow up to 2009's Juno and Polaris award nominated Pink Strat on May 7th.
Bahamas recently performed at the Austin, Texas music showcase South By Southwest and received rave reviews for his performance with Spin magazine describing him as having "the soul and swagger of a '50s idol, but his good fortune doesn't stop there: his guitar playing was the most stylish we saw all week." So impressed by his ability he was placed alongside the likes of Jack White, Girls and Kendrick Lamar for their round up of the ten best shows at the music and movie festival. Fortunately enough for those interested, Jurvanen will be taking his show on the road accompanying NOAH AND THE WHALE on their tour of the UK along with two headlining solo shows in London.
The shows he will be playing in the UK with Noah & the Whale:
Mon 16 April Royal Albert Hall
Tue 17 April O2 Shepherds Bush Empire
Plus headline shows:
Wed 18 April) St Pancras Old Church (SOLD OUT)
Thurs 19 April)St Pancras Old Church
