Lil Wayne is set to release new music this month.

The 'How To Love' rapper will drop a new record on Christmas Day (25.12.17) as a gift to his loyal followers, who are still patiently waiting for the release of his highly anticipated new album 'Tha Carter V'.

Taking to social media to announce the upcoming mixtape, the star directed fans toward Dedication6.com, and wished everyone the best over the festive season.

He tweeted: ''It's time! Sign up for updates and music before drop date! To My fans, I do this for y'all! #D6 MERRY CHRISTMAS (sic)''

Meanwhile, Lil Wayne is still embroiled in a battle with record label Cash Money, which has delayed the release of his upcoming album.

And the musician recently took to social media to update his fans on the situation and thank them for their patience.

The Instagram post read: ''Happy Thanksgiving! I'm so thankful for all my fans for standing by me while I'm enduring this fight with this label. I ain't s**t without y'all! D6 is coming y'all way soon! Thank You. (sic).''

Despite all the uncertainty regarding the album - which was originally slated for release three years ago - Weezy has promised it will see the light of day.

He said at the time: ''Of course you're going to see 'Tha Carter V'. I just don't want to put it out the wrong way. Honestly, I can do what I want at any time.

''The fans deserve it to be right and that's how it's gonna be. I'ma make sure it's right. I can drop whatever I want to drop. That's why I keep dropping whatever I want to drop. But I'm not gonna give them 'Carter V' the wrong way.''
