James Corden has lost six stone.

The 'Into The Woods' star has revealed he lost the sizeable amount after cutting out sugar and bread and increasing his exercise level.

He said: ''I've never considered anything like that really, and the only thing I do differently now is try and eat a bit better and exercise a bit more.

''I've cut out sugar and bread, and eat only at mealtimes now. I didn't realise before that it wasn't OK to constantly graze all day, that this wasn't a thing, and that it was frowned upon.''

And to be sure that he doesn't put on the weight, the Los Angeles-based actor and television presenter has hired a personal trainer ahead of his 'The Late Late Show' hosting duties, which begin next month.

He added: ''I also have a trainer who comes round to my house three mornings a week.

''Maybe this will change when the show goes out and people are saying, 'My God, hasn't Honey Boo Boo's mum let herself go'.''

The 36-year-old star was recently honoured by Britain's Queen Elizabeth with an Excellent Order of the British Empire for services to drama, and whilst he thinks others are more deserving, he admitted he couldn't turn it down because it ''means too much'' to his parents.

He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: ''My mum and sister are both social workers and I was thinking that there are so many people who deserve such a thing more than me.

''It's not something I ever thought would come my way... It means too much to my parents. I couldn't say no. It will be great to take them on the day, and I'm very, very proud to be given such a thing, that's the truth.''
