Kristen Stewart didn't intend to take a year off.

The 'Twilight Saga' actress - who last took a break in 2006 - is a ''workaholic'' and though she had been considering taking some time off, she only didn't appear in any movies last year because she couldn't find any projects that appealed to her.

She said:''I had sort of been considering taking time off for a long time, but this was not planned.

''I'm a total workaholic, and if there's something out there that feels worth it, then I will work through Christmas. It doesn't matter.

''It was simply because I didn't find anything that I really dug.''

Though she is a self-confessed workaholic, 23-year-old Kristen - who has returned to work in 'Camp X-Ray', in which she plays a Guantanamo Bay guard - thinks it is important for her career to take time off and ''recharge'' now and again.

She told MTV News: ''It is important to fill the well. As an actor, all you want to do is give as much as can, and obviously, you need experience to draw from.

''Not to say that you're not having experience while making movies. It's nice to decompress and recharge. It really is a necessary step to being a good actor.''
