Kim Kardashian West has an ''even stronger'' relationship with Caitlyn Jenner now.

The 34-year-old star still thinks it is ''weird'' the 65-year-old Olympian, who was known as Bruce Jenner before undergoing gender transition in May, is now a woman, but is ''really happy'' and ''so proud'' of her.

In a post on her newly launched website and app, the 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star wrote: ''Is it weird for me? Yes, this person has been my stepdad for half my life. But life is just about being happy - that's the one common denominator that everyone can understand. If you aren't able to be you, who can you be?''

The brunette beauty feels closer to Caitlyn than she did to Bruce and added: ''After all, she asks me for style and glam tips all the time. What's more fun than that? LOL.''

Despite knowing Caitlyn, who was married to her mother, Kris Jenner for 22 years until 2013, enjoyed dressing in women's clothing at home, Kim was still surprised when she decided to transition this year.

Recalling the first time she discovered Bruce wearing her mother's clothes when she was 21, she wrote: ''I came home from a friend's house and walked into the garage and Bruce was there, dressed up as a woman. Heels, wig, makeup and all! I don't remember specifically what he had on because I put my head down and ran into my bedroom. Had I not overheard my dad and his friends discussing rumours that Bruce would dress up as a woman years before (when I was about 11 years old), I never would have believed what I was seeing. I thought my dad was jealous of my mom's new husband, that he was joking with his friends on the phone, but suddenly I knew it was all true.

''For over a decade, we assumed he was a cross-dresser, not transgender.''
