Sons of Guns, the reality show which centres on the Red  Jacket Firearms LLC, has been cancelled by the Discovery Channel a mere day after the show's star William Hayden was arrested on child rape charges.

Hayden was arrested a fortnight ago on child molestation charges after the mother of his 12-year-old daughter contacted police. The mother claims he sexually assaulted his daughter on a daily basis, as TMZ reports. Initially Hayden denied the allegations and claimed his daughter's mother was exacting revenge on him for ending the relationship.

Hayden was arrested in Louisiana and released on bail but he was rearrested on Tuesday (26th August) in Los Angeles on child rape charges. It appears Hayden's daughter has opened up about the abuse and provided testimony in which she states Hayden raped her - orally and vaginally- on a daily basis. As TMZ reports, the daughter told police her father had taken her virginity in March 2013 when she was 11-years-old. Hayden also allegedly threatened his daughter with violence, reportedly saying "Don't tell them nothing. I'm all you've got."

Shortly after the news broke of Hayden's re-arrest, the Discovery Channel announced the cancellation of Sons of Guns. The series first aired in 2011 and five seasons of the show were produced. The Discovery Channel issued a short statement to the aforementioned entertainment website, which reads: "Given the serious and horrific nature of the charges against Will Hayden, we have decided to halt further production of Sons of Guns and cancel the series."

Hayden's other daughter, Stephanie Hayden, regularly updates her Twitter account but has been silent on social media since 17th August. Will Hayden is pictured below in the centre of the picture with Stephanie on his left.
