Welsh pop singer SHAKIN' STEVENS was hospitalised last week (ends25Jul10) after collapsing at his home due to exhaustion caused by the pressure of recording a new album.
The Green Door hitmaker has been working hard to get his latest album finished in time for its scheduled release date early next year (11), and the singer's spokesman insists his stress led to the collapse at his home in Windsor, England.
The rep tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "He has been working very hard. He has been recording a new album that will be released next February and he has been under a lot of pressure to get it finished.
"He was admitted to the hospital four days ago. It's not great and he is still there. They are keeping an eye on him. He is awake, though.
"He has been fantastic. I have seen a lot of him over the last few months. No one saw this coming. However he was under a lot of pressure with the album.
"It was originally due to come out in October to coincide with his tour but it has now been moved back to next February."
