Daniel O’Donnell eyes CMAT collaboration after she wore The Daniel Dress
Daniel O’Donnell has hinted at a future collaboration after CMAT wore the viral tribute Daniel Dress.

Daniel O' Donnell is eyeing a CMAT collaboration after the fellow Irish star paid homage to him in The Daniel Dress.
Letterkenny designers Mirren and Brodie McFeely are celebrating after their Daniel O’Donnell-inspired gown went viral, thanks to singer-songwriter CMAT wearing it in her latest music video and on stage at Belfast Vital.
O’Donnell, the 'King of Donegal,' is a beloved Irish singer with a career spanning nearly five decades. Renowned for his warm voice and hits blending country and folk, he remains a beloved figure in Irish music and culture.
The twin sisters, who run Cúpla Designs, created the dress as part of a college project paying tribute to the ‘King of Donegal.’ CMAT’s stylist, Katie-Ruby McLaughlin Robinson, also from Letterkenny, chose the dress for CMAT’s music video for When A Good Man Cries and festivals.
Mirren McFeely told Donegal Daily: “We made it a mission to make one for her. She was buzzing to get it and proudly wore it on stage.”
Only two of the dresses exist: one from Mirren’s university project and one worn by CMAT. The viral attention has led the sisters to reach out to O’Donnell’s team in hopes of gaining his blessing to produce more.
O’Donnell said: “We spoke to Mirren and Brodie Mc Feely today who created ‘The Daniel Dress’. They said they had to design a collection for their college course and wanted to showcase things that are associated with Donegal.
"I’m thrilled they thought I was part of that! CMAT wore their collection for her latest video and also chose to wear the Daniel dress when she performed at recent festivals.
"I’m delighted the girls’ work has got noticed and equally as thrilled CMAT chose to wear their design. I’ve been listening to CMAT and I think she is a great singer and performer. Sure you never know there might even be a duet there lol.”
Meanwhile, O'Donnell is set to unveil his latest album, Now & Then, on October 3 — a heartfelt blend of the Irish and country staples that defined his musical journey, alongside fresh contributions from rising Irish acts like The Tumbling Paddies and The Whistlin’ Donkeys.
