A long-running online campaign would appear to have halted the long-standing 'Page 3 Girls' feature in the weekday editions of popular British tabloid 'The Sun', but no definite statements have yet been released.
Britain’s top-selling daily newspaper ‘The Sun’ has seemingly dropped one of its distinguishing features – its infamous topless ‘page 3 models’. After 44 years, the feature has been discontinued, apparently in response to changing attitudes and a feminist-led campaign in opposition to it.
On weekdays, the Rupert Murdoch-owned tabloid has printed bare-breasted British models on its third page for over four decades, often with incongruous and implausible speech bubbles where the models purport to give their opinions on the hot-button issues of the day. But on Monday (January 19th) the traditional ‘page 3’ wasn’t there, with readers being redirected to The Sun’s website for pictures.

Malorie Blackman has vowed not to be silenced by the racist trolls.
The children's laureate Malorie Blackman says she will not let "haters" silence her after an inaccurate headline on Sky News led to the author receiving a barrage of racist abuse on Twitter. Blackman, whose novels tackle race and identity, had highlighted the need for more diversity in literature though Sky ran a headline claiming the author said children's books "have too many white faces."

"You want to escape into fiction as well and read about other people, other cultures, other lives, other planets and so on," she had told Sky, "I think there is a very significant message that goes out when you cannot see yourself at all in the books you are reading."
The company behind The Great British Bake off are now 70% owned by Murdoch's empire
BSkyB has made a significant purchase, prising independent company Love Productions from the grasp of terrestrial TV channels.
The deal sees BSkyB own a 70% stake in Love Productions, who came to notoriety when the hugely controversial documentary, ‘Benefits Street’ hit Channel 4, only to be met by a deluge of complaints from the British public. The company recently came under fire for a similar show called Immigration Street, to be set in Southampton's Derby Road and aired by Channel 4 next year.

Wendi Deng Murdoch was allegedly holding a not so secret passion for Tony Blair, the former British Prime Minister. A magazine has published a letter in which media mogul Rupert Murdoch's third wife praises Blair's "good body" and "blue eyes."
Wendi Deng Murdoch, the former wife of media mogul Rupert Murdoch, was seemingly infatuated with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. In a love letter obtained by a magazine, Deng Murdoch lusts over Blair's "good body and legs."

The letter was obtained by Vanity Fair and was written by Deng Murdoch to herself, evidently never intended for public circulation. Nevertheless an extract from the letter has been published online and the rest will appear in the upcoming edition of the magazine. The extract reads: "Whatever why I'm so, so missing Tony. Because he is so, so charming and his clothes are so good. He has such good body and he has really, really good legs Butt. And he is slim tall and good skin. Pierce blue eyes which I love. Love his eyes. Also I love his power on the stage. And what else and what else and what else."

A Sky advert starring Bruce Willis has been banned in the UK by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). The organisation claim the advert is not clear on what customers were expected to pay.

A voiceover at the end of the advert suggested the cost for the "unlimited" broadband service was £7.50. This is not the case, as anyone capable of reading the miniscule writing at the bottom of the screen could tell you. The text informed customers that this deal was only available to existing Sky TV customers.

Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe entertained the crowds at the Les Miserables premiere in Sydney, Australia, on Thursday (December 20, 2012), laughing and joking while also pretending to race each other down the red-carpet! Tom Hooper's big screen adaptation of the musical based on Victor Hugo's classic novel has received cautious praise from critics, though Jackman's performance in particular came in for specific fanfare.
Speaking to The Australian, Jackman admitted that musicals aren't for everyone, "When it doesn't work, it stinks to high heaven, musical theatre. It can be very phoney. If it's not done well, it doesn't affect you in any way. I think musicals are the Mount Everest of moviemaking - I don't think there's anything more difficult to pull off."
