According to reports in The Telegraph, the pair were introduced by Murdoch’s sister and his niece in Australia.
“It's all very new. They are really enjoying each other's company very much,” a source close to the family said of Murdoch and Hall’s relationship. "He is very fond of her. There is no question that they are a couple."
The two have been spending an increasing amount of time together over the past few months with trips to shows on Broadway and meetings in California. They are reportedly planning on going public with their relationship this weekend, when they will appear together at the Rugby World Cup final.
There is something of an age difference. There’s 25 years between them with Murdoch at 84 and Hall at 59. Perhaps most galling of all in reports about their alleged relationship is that, much like Hugh Hefner, no one is willing to mention this fact. It would be entirely different if the Hall, a female, were older than her new beau. Sadly, this isn’t how the media works, as we saw with coverage of Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher's relationship.
Murdoch, the media mogul who owns such companies/publications as Sky and The Sun, has been married three times. His last marriage, to businesswoman Wendi Deng, lasted for 14 years and ended in 2013 after Murdoch reportedly believed Deng was infatuated with former British PM Tony Blair.
Former model Hall famously dated Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger. They began dating in 1977 and married in an unofficial ceremony in Bali in 1990. Their marriage was declared void when they separated in 1999. They have four children together, including model Georgia May Jagger and Elizabeth Scarlett.
