Having met Mr. Martin in St Louis and talked to him for a long time before a concert, where I was doing security. I found him to be a man who is quite, extremely intelligent, and one of the top 5 most talented Banjo players in the world. I believe people who only want to see people acting stupid are just people who are stupid in general. And, there in.. is the real act of Mr. Martins interview and comic talent. For the peoples anger over his show is the real laugh out loud moment. They should realize that and thank him for an enjoyable time.

Ja, ja, ich muss zustimmen! If they say give me 50 dollars to listen to Steve Martin talking about art, I know not to buy the ticket. Also if they say 10 dollars, still, I don't wish the ticket, thank you. Maybe if they say they give ME $10 - give it to me at the beginning because if it gets too scheisslangweilig I am out! Next they want $50 to hear him talking about unemployment and pollution?

hey guys...all i have to say is, if the event was booked to have a funny guy,(be funny)...they should have told the funny guy. but if they booked the event to talk to and learn more of what is behind the funny guy's persona...granted!!!i thing a lack of communication falls into play here...personally martin has made me wiz myself a million times!!! it would be even greater to learn what makes the man!and if i payed 50.00 bucks to be in a great man's presence...funny or intrigeing, it would be money well spent!!!the promoters of the event should be scrutinized here...the the talent!

Too bad the article did not say how many requested their money back. That would have told us if the audience was really bored or if the producers just had their own agenda.

I like Steve Martin. I've always admired his work, and his DIVERSITY. It seems to me, if fans were willing to purchase a $50 ticket to see someone INTERVIEWED, not ENTERTAIN, they would familiarize themselves with current works of the artist to ascertain their interest level. Honestly, people need to learn to live with disappointment for their ignorant decisions, rather than expect a refund. If I were Steve Martin, I wouldn't consider returning to the venue. Hats off Steve, this whole fiasco has given me a laugh!

This is what's stupid...The American people always expecting to get what they want and cry like children when they do not get it! No wonder the world and country are in such disarry. People are so immature, ignorant, and self-centered!Yes Steve Martin is a funny guy, but that does not make up his entire being. The part that's not funny and appreciates art also completes the make up of the man you people thought was hilarious! Shame on all you attendees, and all you hypocrites out there that say you love Steve Martin...just not all of him!

This is not surprising. No one cares about Steve Martin the art critic. Being an art critic is not how he made his name, sharing a motel room with John Candy is how he made it. Sounds like a refund was in order.
