The Best of You hitmakers cancelled a string of shows, including a headlining set at Britain's Glastonbury Festival, after Grohl underwent surgery on the limb, which he broke when he fell off stage during a show in Sweden earlier in June (15).

Grohl has been recovering ever since, and the band has now hinted he is ready to get back on stage by writing on their website, "Can't f**king wait for the 4th!!! See you at home, DC."

The concert in Washington, D.C. on Saturday (04Jul14) is a special 20th anniversary celebration and is set to feature appearances from Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Gary Clark, Jr., LL Cool J, Heart and Buddy Guy.

Their North American tour is still scheduled to go ahead, with the next stop in Camden, New Jersey on 6 July (15).
