Allegra is a name you are going to be hearing a lot in 2025.

The singer is forging a major name for herself in the music industry. Allegra gave us two EPs in 2024; her debut ‘Unsent Love Letters Vol.1' and follow-up ‘Strangers’.

Allegra also earned attention thanks to Tiesto’s remix of ‘Round and Round'.

We caught up with her to get to know the artist behind the music and what 2025 has in store...

Contact Music: So, 2024 has been a year of transformation for you with the release of 'Unsent Love Letters Vol.1.' How would you sum up this year personally and artistically?

Allegra: 2024 has been an incredible year of growth and self-discovery for me. Personally, it’s been about embracing vulnerability and finding strength in my experiences. Artistically, it’s been about pushing boundaries—exploring new sounds, collaborating with incredible talents, and sharing my most personal stories through music. It’s been challenging, but also deeply rewarding.

'Unsent Love Letters Vol.1’ explores the stages of a breakup. Could you share how you approached writing such emotionally raw and personal songs?

When writing this EP, I allowed myself to be completely open. I revisited old journals and even actual unsent letters to channel the emotions I felt during those moments of heartbreak. It was cathartic, almost like therapy. The goal was to be honest and relatable, so listeners could find pieces of their own stories in mine.

From collaborating with Tiesto to crafting your debut EP, what was the peak and pit of your journey this year?

The peak was definitely seeing how tracks like 'Round & Round' and 'Strangers' resonated with people around the world. Hearing my songs connect with fans on such a deep level is indescribable. The pit? Learning to navigate the emotional toll of pouring my heart into my music. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.

‘Strangers’ signals a shift from your dance-pop roots to a more emotive pop style. What inspired this musical evolution, and what do you hope listeners take away from it?

I wanted to show another side of myself—one that’s introspective and raw. The shift felt natural as I worked through personal experiences. I hope listeners walk away feeling seen, comforted, and empowered to embrace their own transformations, no matter how painful they might be.

As a London-based artist, how has your city influenced your sound and the visuals for your music, like the playful music video for ‘Strangers’?

London is a melting pot of cultures and creativity, and it’s always inspired me to think outside the box. For the ‘Strangers’ video, I drew from London’s vibrant street culture and its knack for storytelling through art.

Empowerment and self-worth are strong themes in your EP. How do you balance vulnerability and confidence in your songwriting?

It’s about embracing both sides of myself. Vulnerability and confidence aren’t opposites—they’re two parts of the same journey. In my songs, I aim to show how moments of weakness can lead to strength and how self-worth is a process we’re all working on.

You mentioned your fascination with love letters growing up. Are there other unique rituals or practices you use to channel your emotions into your music?

I love creating vision boards with images, words, and colours that represent the mood of a song I’m working on. I also journal a lot—it’s where many of my lyrics originate. Sometimes, I’ll even revisit old memories or places to recapture a feeling.

The video for ‘Strangers’ captures the journey from heartbreak to empowerment. What was your favourite part of creating this visual narrative?

Filming the scenes where empowerment takes over was my favourite. There’s this moment when the character chooses herself, and it’s so powerful to watch that transformation come to life.

With Unsent Love Letters Vol.1 out in the world, what’s next for Allegra in 2025? Any exciting plans or collaborations you can hint at?

Absolutely! I’m thrilled to announce that 'Unsent Love Letters Vol.2' is already in the works and fans can expect my next feature single to drop early in the year, giving a taste of what’s to come. Re collaborations my lips are sealed for now!! Stay tuned—this is just the beginning!

Having transitioned from breakout club hits to deeply personal music, what advice would you give to artists trying to find their voice in a competitive industry?

Stay authentic. Trends come and go, but what really connects is your unique story. Trust your instincts, surround yourself with a supportive team, and never stop growing as an artist and person. It’s a tough industry, but there’s space for everyone to shine.
