Iron Maiden’s five‑decade story is heading to the big screen.

Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition lands in UK cinemas on May 7, with tickets due to go on sale from March 18 via IronMaidenFilm.com.

Directed by Malcolm Venville, the documentary traces the group’s rise from their East London beginnings in the mid‑70s to becoming one of the most influential heavy‑metal acts in the world. Producer Dominic Freeman, who previously worked on Depeche Mode’s concert film Spirits in the Forest, oversees the project.

Alongside new interviews with Bruce Dickinson and co, the film includes contributions from long‑time admirers such as Javier Bardem, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, and Chuck D, each reflecting on the band’s cultural footprint and the generations of musicians they’ve inspired.

The first official artwork — created by Maiden collaborator Albert “Akirant” Quirantes — has also been released, offering an early glimpse at the film’s visual identity.

Formed in 1975, Iron Maiden have released 17 studio albums, sold more than 100 million records and played nearly 2,500 shows across 64 countries. The documentary lands as the band continue their two‑year Run For Your Lives world tour, which included last summer's celebratory homecoming at London Stadium.

Next summer will also see the group headline their very own EddFest, a one‑off event at Knebworth Park on July 11.
