Pulp to reissue Different Class in honour of album's 30th anniversary
Pulp will mark 30 years of their album Different Class with a reissue featuring their iconic 1995 Glastonbury headline set.

Pulp are set to mark 30 years of their landmark album Different Class with a major reissue.
The Britpop legends - featuring frontman Jarvis Cocker, 61, guitarist Russell Senior, 64, keyboardist Candida Doyle, 62, drummer Nick Banks, 60 and guitarist Mark Webber, 54 - will reissue the album on October 24 via Universal Music/Island Records.
The expanded edition will be released as a 4xLP box set and double CD, and includes the band’s full Glastonbury 1995 headline set - made available in its entirety for the first time.
Pulp filled in for The Stone Roses at Glastonbury at short notice in June 1995 - just months before Different Class was released - after the Fools Gold band's guitarist John Squire broke his collarbone. Their surprise headline set became a defining moment of the Britpop era.
Originally released in October 1995, Different Class topped the UK Albums Chart, went multi-platinum, and earned Pulp the Mercury Prize. It featured hit singles like Common People, Disco 2000, Sorted for E’s and Wizz, and Something Changed.
Speaking about the release, frontman Jarvis Cocker said: “This 45rpm double album version of Different Class will make it sound a whole lot better. We were obsessed with the fact that this was our ‘Pop’ album (we had finally achieved some ‘popularity’ when Common People was a hit) and, as everyone knows, all pop albums have 12 songs on them: 6 tracks per side.
“Only problem: this took the running time of the record to 53 minutes. We were told this would compromise the audio quality of the vinyl record – but we were more bothered about not compromising the quality of our Pop Dream. Now, 30 years later, we are finally ready for Different Class to be heard in all its glory. Different Class indeed.”
Cocker went on to reflect on the band’s landmark Glastonbury 1995 performance, calling it a pivotal moment in Pulp’s history
He added: “The Glastonbury performance in June 1995 will always be the most significant concert of Pulp’s career.
“Three weeks after Common People hit number #2 in the national charts, the band filled in for The Stone Roses at the last minute. We played Sorted For E’s and Wizz, Mis-Shapes and Disco 2000 – all receiving their live debut. This is the first time the whole concert (including the long, drone-based intro) has been made available. Your chance to relive an historical moment.”
