Panda Su I Begin Album

If you like the whole rustic/acoustic style of music where you can hear every intricate chord being played and the strains on the guitar strings coming through on the recording, then you will love this. This EP is anything but polished, but is it pure rawness at its best? Well, that is something which is more down to personal opinion. Everything around Pandu Su's music seems both simple and stripped back, for example take the opener 'Bee Song', a track basically about being stung by a bee... but weirdly it works.

The title track 'I Begin' seems to just pass you by and the only memorable part of it is a catchy couple of lyrics which when you think about it are quite ironic: "I should try to remember I should try to forget" is this a subliminal message? If it is, it's just messed up my head.

We move onto 'Alphabet Song' and we forget about that one and go straight to the final track on the EP 'Facts And Figures' which is the shining light, Pandu Su's hastened singing with a beautiful build up of soft music is literally like beams of light shining through the dark clouds. This has that edge to it which the other three tracks seem to be missing.

4/10
