It's always exciting when a film brings a real musical flavour into the mix and the effort filmmaker Terrence Malick has gone through to effect that on his latest project 'Song To Song' is singular. Even the people in Rooney Mara's band are real rock stars.

Among the crowd of real life musicians the likes of Iggy Pop, Florence and the Machine, Big Freedia, Patti Smith, Die Antwoord, Neon Indian, Lykke Li, John Lydon and Red Hot Chili Peppers, we have a well known garage rock band from Atlanta, Black Lips.

Song To Song - Featurette and Clip

Terrence Malick is set to release his latest movie 'Song to Song'; a musical drama that was partially shot at Austin City Limits musical festival back in 2012. Producers Sarah Green and Ken Kao, music supervisor Lauren Marie Mikus, Cole Alexander from Black Lips, singer-songwriter Lykke Li, and stars Natalie Portman and Michael Fassbender open up about getting to work on extraordinary film at an even more extraordinary festival in a short featurette.

The music scene of Austin, Texas becomes tainted by lust and illict desires as two aspiring songwriters named Faye (Rooney Mara) and BV (Ryan Gosling) become entwined in two overlapping love triangles with a major player in the music business named Cook (Michael Fassbender) - who encourages them to take their music careers further - and a charming waitress (Natalie Portman). As much as their lives are about making it in the industry and becoming world renowned successes, their lives get more complicated by disloyalty, temptation and infatuation with each other, pushing all of them ultimately further away. Can love last when betrayal lies at every corner?

Shield your eyes as Austin's most vibrant music festival marks its seventh year from May 2nd-4th 2014. With The Zombies, The Horrors and Temples on this unique bill, are we looking at Austin Psych Fest's best year yet?

Founded in 2008, the Austin Psych Fest started off as a tiny event; a one day blast of sensational independent bands at The Red Barn venue. It took just one year for it to expand into three whole days of psychedelic magic and will this year take place at the Carson Creek Ranch playing host to some of the most well respected bands of the genre in the business. We've had six years so far of this inimitable energy and with old lucky number seven comes a line-up that is arguably the festival's most interesting yet.

It's not long until this year's South by Southwest festival and here's 10 acts you wont want to miss in Austin.

Every year, hundreds of bands descend upon Austin, Texas to make the South by Southwest Festival one of the most anticipated of the year. Featuring musical acts from all over the world, the music section of this mammoth festival takes place from March 11th to 16th 2014. This year sees the festival get even bigger and better as a host of new acts showcase alongside some big name veterans to give an awesome lineup of over 2,000 acts. Anyone lucky enough to be making the trip to Austin next month is going to have a hard time deciding which bands to go see, so to help you make up your mind, here’s ten acts that we consider unmissable from this year’s lineup.
