James Corden has managed to persuade Victoria Beckham to do what the other four Spice Girls were unable to – resume her singing career! The former pop star and current fashion designer will join the British presenter for ‘Carpool Karaoke’.

The 42 year old revealed her involvement with Corden’s now-iconic segment of ‘The Late Late Show’ – on which she was a guest on Wednesday night (March 29th). At some point soon, we can all look forward to the pair of them belting out old Spice Girls hits. With or without the use of Auto-Tune, we don't yet know.

Victoria herself announced her involvement with the CBS show via Instagram on Wednesday, sharing a picture of herself with 38 year old Corden stood behind her laughing hysterically. “What is so funny @j_corden X VB,” she captioned it.

She also shared a number of Snapchats with her fans of her getting made up for the segment and then getting into the famous car with Corden.

The official Instagram account for ‘The Late Late Show’ then reciprocated. “Just wait till you see what we’re up to with @victoriabeckham!”

Symbolically, it seems to be even more evidence that the Spice Girls ‘era’ is truly over. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Victoria had hired lawyers to prevent Mel B, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton from performing the group’s back catalogue of hits.

“The girls are devastated. It is an extremely sad way for things to end,” a source said recently. It certainly renders any hope of a 21st anniversary reunion of their debut single ‘Wannabe’, and a much-vaunted arena tour, in tatters.

On the show itself, the infamously ‘stern’ celebrity, who is known for apparently never smiling, got to showcase her fun side to Corden. Asked about a recent T-shirt she was spotted wearing, which read ‘Fashion Stole My Smile’, she said: “I did make this... It's just me poking fun of myself.”

As well as getting involved with a number of live stunts – such as standing behind a perspex screen while tomatoes were lobbed at her (she’s scared of tomatoes, apparently…) in a game of Flinch – Victoria also spoke about her new Target fashion range. “I jumped at the chance to offer a line to women who don't want or can't afford designer prices,” she said.
