Jon Cryer Details Charlie Sheen's Work Life & Relationship Advice In New Autobiography

Jon Cryer's autobiography, So What Happened?, is due to be released on April 7th. Fortunately for us, some of the most interesting sections have been pre-released and they largely concern the antics of Cryer's former Two and a Half Men star, Charlie Sheen. 49-year-old Cryer's depiction of Sheen is similar to how he is depicted in the public eye: wild, controversial and frequently embroiled in unusual relationships.

'Two And A Half Men' Star Jon Cryer Reveals What It Was Like To Work With Charlie Sheen

Charlie Sheen’s antics over recent years have become the stuff of legend, but one of the closest people to him kept largely quiet about what it was like to work alongside him. Until now.

Sheen’s ‘Two and a Half Men’ co-star Jon Cryer, except for a small handful of interviews, has never spilled the beans on what it was like to be around him on a daily basis, wisely choosing to quietly get on with his job and earn millions of dollars as part of the wildly popular comedy.

Ashton Kutcher's Character To Marry Jon Cryer On 'Two And A Half Men'

Ashton Kutcher Jon Cryer Chuck Lorre

Though we probably shouldn't have ruled out anything given the past couple of years on 'Two and a Half Men', but we really, really didn't see this one coming. According to The Wrap, Ashton Kutcher's character Walden is to propose to Jon Cryer's Alan in the show's final season.

"Walden has a near-death experience," CBS entertainment chief Nina Tassler told the industry website, "It forces him into sort of this existential quandary and to evaluate the meaning of his life, the quality of his life, which prompts him to say, 'I need to put down deeper roots.' And he wants to adopt a child."

Angus T. Jones Vs. 'Two And A Half Men'

Angus T. Jones Charlie Sheen Ashton Kutcher Jon Cryer

When Two and a Half Men began in 2003, Angus T. Jones was just ten years old. The young actor was cast to play Jake, the underachieving nephew of Charlie Sheen’s character, Charlie Harper and son of Jon Cryer’s character, Alan. Angus had been acting since he was 6 years old and had already appeared on several primetime TV shows, including ER and Dinner With Friends.

Despite the controversy on set with Charlie Sheen, which led to him being replaced with Ashton Kutcher, for nine years Angus T. Jones regularly appeared on the show, growing up on screen. In 2010 he became television’s highest paid child star, generating on average $300,000 per episode over the course of two seasons. We can’t imagine that many people would be complaining with a salary like that!

'Two And A Half Men' Stars Top Rich List - Ashton Kutcher Is The Man

Ashton Kutcher Jon Cryer Neil Patrick Harris

Ashton Kutcher tops a heady list of stars that earn – to be candid – loads and loads of money. The Two and a Half Men star was joined by his co-star on the hit U.S comedy, Jon Cryer as the comedy pair comprise the top two.

Kutcher capitalized – probably not consciously – on Charlie Sheen’s very public breakdown back in 2011. He was pretty much forced to leave the show – either by his employees or by his own actions, and accord – and the former Punk'd star stepped in duly.

"TV's highest-paid actor is laughing all the way to the bank since replacing Sheen on 'Two and a Half Men' after the troubled star's 2011 flameout," said Forbes, adding that Kutcher is also an investor in technology companies.

Two And A Half Men Lady Update: There Will Be One Of Those

Ashton Kutcher Jon Cryer Angus T. Jones Charlie Sheen

It’s all changes all the time on this show with the latest being a “Two and A Half Men” lady character. After the departure of Charlie Sheen and the final departure of Angus T Jones, the house would have seemed a little empty. But no worries, for apparently the producers will inject a bit of estrogen to remedy the situation.

Though we would personally deem the show worthy of humane euthanasia at this point, the Two and a Half team has apparently gone for an altogether more complicated approach. According to Deadline, the new season will feature a brand new character, as yet uncast, who will play Charlie Harper's long-lost daughter. (That's Sheen's character). She'll show up at the house looking for her father and eventually move in with the two bachelors.

That certainly puts a new spin on the show’s title. What with no half-man and a brand new lady in the picture, there has to be a more appropriate title for this, But mostly, everyone – fan or not – just misses the show’s glory days. Back when the title really made sense and there was some semblance of humor left. But after Sheen left in a blaze of glory and Jones was booted off soon after for bashing the show, the question remains – even with an interesting female character in the mix, is there any hope for Two and a Half Men.

CBS Renews "Two And A Half Men" With Ashton Kutcher's Paycheck Topping $700 000 Per Episode

Ashton Kutcher Angus T. Jones Jon Cryer Charlie Sheen

The long-running CBS series Two and a Half men has been renewed for its eleventh season, which will see a return of the entire cast, though some appearances will be less frequent. Unsurprisingly, Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer have signed on to play their characters again for this go round. It’s a pretty safe deal for both of them and quite lucrative, if we may add, considering that Kutcher has now topped the chart for highest paid sitcom star, with a $700 000 per episode deal, as reported by Us Magazine. That’s still less than previous Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen’s $1.2 million per episode salary, but it isn’t a bad deal at all. Yes, a renewal of the show means that both of its stars will be making bank.

Angus T Jones, who plays Jake, on the other hand, isn’t going to be as involved this season, as his role has been demoted to a recurring character. This is still better than the rumors that he would be getting fired, due to some less than affectionate comments he made towards the show earlier this year, though. There are a number of reasons why his presence on the series could have been decreased. While according to CBS entertainment chief Nina Tassler, there are no grudges between Jones and the network, it could be that the relationship is still strained. Additionally, Jones has made comments in the past that he would like to free up some time for college (which seems like a perfectly reasonable decision.) Whatever the reason, the bottom line is that we’ll be seeing less of Jones and presumably more of Kutcher this season. He’s gotta earn that fat paycheck somehow.

Angus T Jones Unlikely To Be Left Out Of New Season Of Two And A Half Men

Angus T. Jones Charlie Sheen Jon Cryer Ashton Kutcher

Like his former co-star before him, Angus T Jones' rant against his employers on Two and a Half Men looked to have cost him his job, unlike Charlie Sheen though, Jones may have dodged a bullet and looks likely to reclaim his role as Jake on the popular series.

In an online rant, Jones called the popular sitcom "filth" and "very inappropriate," and unfitting of his newfound religious calling. For a while it looked as though it would be him leaving the show before the producers even had the chance to fire him, however he looks to have held on to his post for a little bit longer, having apologised for his rather unwise words shortly after the derogatory video went viral.

With filming for season 11 getting under way next week,  CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler issued a statement yesterday (Jan 12) seemingly signalling her forgiveness towards Jones, saying: "We move on."

Will Angus T Jones Return To Two And A Half Men?

Angus T. Jones Chuck Lorre Jon Cryer Ashton Kutcher

Season 11 of Two and a Half Men looks ready to be commissioned, but will all three of the main cast members be returning? Maybe not, as Angus T Jones' days look numbered on the hit show.

Last year's infamous rant by Jones is still on the minds of the powers that be at CBS, when he accused the show of being nothing more than "filth." This may end up costing Jones his place on the show, which, "filthy" or not, has provided him with a very nice bit of income over the past few years.

CBS boss Nina Tassler has told press that the channel is looking to extend the show for at least one more season, saying: "We have told Warner Bros. we'd like to have an eleventh season and they're equally interested."
