Alec Baldwin Happy To Take Pay Cut On '30 Rock'

Alec Baldwin has allegedly told bosses on the hit comedy series 30 Rock that he is happy to take a 20% pay cut in order to keep the show on air, revealing the news on his Twitter.

Back in May this year, bosses at NBC announced that the upcoming series of the show would be its last, also announcing that it would cut down the number of episodes from 22 to only 13. Alec's alleged pay cut suggestion was apparently not taken on board with network bosses, who decided to cut their losses and cancel the show despite the large following it has developed over its seven seasons on air.

The show was created by US comedienne Tina Fey back in 2006, inspired by her time as head writer for the long running Saturday Night Live. The show follows the daily running of the fictional comedy show TGS With Tracy Jordan, played by Tracy Morgan as the fictional show's host.

Since being on air the show has developed a dedicated cult following, although it's ratings in recent years have suffered - largely as a result of the overshadowing success of Modern Family and Glee. During its time on air, the show has been nominated for a staggering 90 Emmy Awards, resulting in 14 wins overall, including Best Comedy Series, and two awards for Baldwin.
