Matthew Mcconaughey and Camila Alves have put an end to the rumours that their new baby is a girl. Despite initial reports suggesting that their child was a daughter, McConaughey put the record straight with a Facebook post welcoming their new son to the world. “Camila Alves gave birth to our third child yesterday morning. Our son, Livingston Alves McConaughey was born at 7:43am on 12.28.12. He greeted the world at 9lbs. and 21 inches,” wrote McConaughey. He then added “Bless up and thank you for your well wishes. Happy New year, and just keep livin, Camila and Matthew McConaughey.”
What a brilliant end to a brilliant year for those two; they got married back in June, at their home in Austin, Texas, in a relaxed ceremony that took place amidst a three day celebration. Their guests included Reese Witherspoon, Woody Harrelson and Kenny Chesney.
The couple already have two children; a four year-old named Levi and a three year old named Vida. It’s no surprise then that they chose a less-than-conventional name for young Livingstone. Since McConaughey posted the details of his son’s name on Facebook, the source of Livingstone McConaughey’s will no doubt become the source of much speculation. The Dallas Buyer’s Club hasn’t given the game away just yet, though, so we’ll all have to keep guessing.
Matthew Mcconaughey and his wife Camila Alves welcomed their third child into the world on Friday (Dec 28), and now the pair have decided on a name for the youngster, with the actor announcing the news on his Whosay page. The little one's name: Livingston.

The couple, who have two other children - Vida, 2, and Levi, 4 - announced the pregnancy late in the summer via Twitter, and got one heck of a late Christmas present when little Livingston was born at a hospital in Austin, Texas. The pair tied the knot after six years together this summer shortly after the pregnancy announcement, and we doubt the two could have thought of anything better to finish the year for them. Well, maybe Camila might have asked for her husband to put on a little weight, with the actor dropping the pounds for his upcoming role as AIDS sufferer Ron Woodroof, but we're sure she understands.
According to TMZ, who first reported the news this morning, the Magic Mike actor stood by his wife as she gave birth in the early hours of the day at a hospital in Austin, Texas. A source close to the actor told the website that Matthew was clearly happy in regards to the impending birth, and added a few pounds to his delicately thin frame in anticipation for the arrival.
In July this year, McConaughey first announced the good news through Twitter, writing: "Happy birthday America, more good news, Camila and I are expecting our 3rd child." And now the special day has arrived, although the news has been kept under wraps for know it is believed that the little one is in fact a baby girl. This tops off quite the year for the couple, who tied the knot in June after six years together. The couple have two other children together, Levi, 4, and Vida, 2.
