The Kooks announce 2026 outdoor summer shows celebrating 20th anniversary of debut album Inside In / Inside Out
The Kooks will play a series of outdoor shows in the UK next summer to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut album Inside In/ Inside Out.
The Kooks have announced a series of UK outdoor gigs for 2026 - which will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their acclaimed debut LP Inside In / Inside Out.
The Brighton band will play a series of summer shows marking the anniversary of the LP – which featured hits such as Naïve, She Moves In Her Own Way and Seaside.
The Kooks will be performing at Delamere Forest in Northwich on June 17 as part of the Forest Live concert series, Scarborough Open Air Theatre on June 18, Live at The Piece Hall in Halifax on June 19 and Canons Marsh Amphitheatre for Bristol Sounds on June 23.
Inside In / Inside Out catapulted The Kooks to stardom as it sold over two million copies and was responsible for defining an era of music.
Two decades on, the band made up of lead vocalist Luke Pritchard, guitarist Hugh Harris and drummer Alexis Nunez continues to resonate with a new generation thanks to sold-out tours and performances on festival main stages.
News of the 2026 concerts comes shortly after The Kooks concluded a run of their biggest ever headline shows, which culminated with a career-defining gig at The O2 arena in London earlier this month.
The Kooks released their seventh studio album Never/Know earlier this year and Luke believes it came out at a time when the early 2000s indie scene is being re-appraised for the impact it had on British music.
In an interview with Contact Music, Luke said: "It’s amazing. It’s a time where you can really see the moment as a whole; the 2000s music scene.
The fact that indie and rock ‘n’ roll was the commercial music, which is something I was thinking about the other day, it was a zeitgeist moment for us. We were influencers, there were other bands that we liked that were influenced by the same thing. It was the popular thing.
"We had the explosion of the festivals. I think that’s maybe one of the biggest impacts of the 2000s indie scene - the festivals. Because I just feel there’s so many, it wasn’t like that when we started.
"It was because of the immediacy and the rock ‘n’ roll energy everyone wanted to go out to the indie clubs and that went to proper big festivals, now there’s loads of them.
"What we’re seeing as The Kooks – I can’t speak for other bands of our generation – is the young people now, the teenagers, are getting into our music, which is crazy. I guess that shows the appreciation of what it was.
"After Britpop you had a lot of garage and stuff like that. Then White Stripes and The Strokes came along and we as Brits answered it."
