Miley Cyrus reached out to her 13 million Twitter followers on Tuesday (August 6, 2013) to announce her forthcoming new album, titled BANGERZ.

Ok, so it's not Bangerz and mash and it probably refers to the thumping beats of the songs involved, rather than a couple of pork sausages, but, whatever.

"If you don't know why my record is called BANGERZ you'll know as soon as you hear it. Nothin but #BANGERZ" she wrote.

Shortly after, Miley revealed a snippet of the title track featuring Britney Spears, this despite recently admitting that her record label worries that she might leak her new music.

"We could just leak it. That's what I'm always trying to do," she told 4Music, "I scare my label all the time, because I just want my whole record out right now. I'm ready for people to hear it."

BANGERZ will be the follow-up to 2010's Can't Be Tamed, which debuted at number 3 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and featured the singles Can't Be Tamed and Who Owns My Heart. It has since sold 1.5 million copies worldwide though received mixed reviews upon release.

We Can't Stop, the first single from the new album, proved to be a commercial success, topping the iTunes singles chart in over thirty countries within hours of its release. The music video set a new VEVO record, receiving more than ten million views within 24 hours.
