Scottish rocker Edwyn Collins was "reassembling his past" during interviews for a documentary about his life.

The Possibilities Are Endless, which premiered at South by Southwest Festival (Sxsw) in Texas on Sunday (09Mar14), tells the story of the former Orange Juice frontman's life, focusing on his struggle back to health following two brain haemorrhages in 2005.

The documentary is directed by James Hall and Edward Lovelace, who admits the singer-songwriter had difficulty talking about his life when they began shooting the film because his memories were hazy.

James Morrison Back To Basics On New Album

James Morrison Duffy Edwyn Collins Sony Suede The Roots Academy Of Motion Pictures And Sciences

James Morrison "tried to forget" some of the things he'd learned about making music for his third album.

The 'Broken Strings' hitmaker has recently completed recording on his third album, and wanted it to be a return to his Roots and not produce something too over-commercial.

Speaking at the Sony Radio Academy Awards, he told BANG Showbiz: "It's my favourite piece of work so far, I tried to forget what I'd learned before and do what I wanted to do in the first place, but I didn't have any experience to do. So I made an album that felt real and not over-commercial and trying to just write good songs."

Franz Ferdinand are rumoured to be preparing for a live return to the UK in December.

Fans are hoping the band will be surprise guests at the All Tomorrow's Parties (ATP) Bowlie 2 Weekender - curated by their friends, fellow Scottish group Belle And Sebastian - to commemorate 10 Years of the festival.

A source close to the group said: "The Bowlie Weekender was what started off All Tomorrow's Parties, so it is a special show for Belle and Sebastian. And the line-up is a bit of a who's who of Scottish indie from the last 30 years - Edwyn Collins, Camera Obscura, Teenage Fanclub - I mean there's only really one name missing from that list - and it's Franz."
