Matteo Bocelli doesn’t get career advice from his famous father.
The 27-year-old singer – whose dad is legendary tenor Andrea Bocelli – occasionally plays some of his music to his parent, but insisted he isn’t “part of the process” when it comes to choosing what he records and how.
Asked if he gets career advice from Andrea, Matteo told BANG Showbiz: “No, honestly, my father is a spectator, in the sense that now and then, when I feel like some good songs I enjoy playing, I play him the songs, but he's not a part of the process.
“I take suggestions from him, but it’s more related to technique.”
While Matteo has spent much of his time working on his second studio album, Falling In Love, he’s hoping to also get back to acting at some point in the future.
He said: “I did some acting, yes, but, and I had so much fun.
“Doing it lately, obviously, I've been so focused on the record, so I didn't have the time to follow that aspect.
“But if ever in the future, I have more chances to act in some, you know, little parts. I obviously would say I would consider it, because I enjoyed it a lot.”
Matteo would love to duet with Ed Sheeran after his dad previously featured on a 2017 classical version of the Azizam hitmaker’s song Perfect Symphony, but he is unsure if he could “handle the situation".
Asked about a potential collaboration with Ed, he said: "Always. I was so honoured to have received a song written by him and his brother [Matthew Sheeran], called Chasing Stars. But obviously, yes, I would love one day to be on stage with him - but I don't know if I'd be able to handle the situation."
