Sir Elton John has topped a list of charitable British celebrities after donating millions of dollars to worthy causes last year (13).
The Rocket Man donated a massive $38.4 million (£24 million) to charities in 2013, including $22.4 million (£14 million) raised by gigs for his Aids foundations, making him the highest-ranking celebrity on The Sunday Times Giving List 2013, which tracks the philanthropy of Britain's super-rich.
Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling comes a distant second in the rankings after giving $15 million (£9.4 million) to charities, ahead of U2 frontman Bono, who donated $12.8 million (£8 million).
Also included in the list are David and Victoria Beckham, who donated $5.4 million (£3.4 million) to charity in 2013, rockers Coldplay, who gave $4.5 million (£2.8 million), and One Direction, who raised $3.4 million (£2.1 million).
