Sir Elton John Is Tempted To Make A New Musical Version Of The Billy Elliot Movie.
The Rocket Man hitmaker wrote the music and lyrics to Billy Elliot - The Musical, based on the 2000 film about a young boy who wants to become a ballet dancer, in 2005 and as the show reaches its 10th anniversary, Sir Elton admits he is tempted to create a new musical version of the hit movie.
He tells BBC News, "It would be lovely to do a film version... There are other songs that we had had to leave out of the musical that would be great in the film... You can only do so much on stage with the material you've got and the length of the show, so I think if one did a movie of this show it would be nice to change some things and maybe put something fresh in."
The singer attended the production's special 10th anniversary performance in London with partner David Furnish on Tuesday night (12May15).
