The Australia native, 30, revealed she was given the news nearly a month ago, and just before entering a hospital Down Under on Wednesday (10Jun15), she released a statement assuring fans she is positive she will get through the ordeal.

It reads: "I do not have a family history and being only 30 years old I'm in shock and disbelief but in VERY strong spirits that I can beat this.

"I encourage all women of all ages to remember to check yourself and seek medical advice if there's any changes at all in your breasts as cancer doesn't discriminate.

"I have continued since my diagnosis to get on with my life and career as best I can and have scheduled my treatment around all future tour dates and commitments so I will still see you all out on the road.

"Thank you for all of the love and prayers and kind words so far, your support is all I need to get through this scary time."

Britt began her career in 1999 thanks to the help of Sir Elton John, who noticed her talent and invited her to join him in a duet called Where We Both Say Goodbye.
