Aldous Harding - Old Peel Music Video

  • 18 June 2021

Aldous Harding once again joins forces with fellow New Zealander Martin Sagadin as the pair co-direct Harding's video for her latest single, 'Old Peel'. The two incredibly creative artists previously worked on Aldous Harding's video for her outstanding song, 'The Barrel' back in 2019 and have been long term collaborators.

Harding has been quite quiet up until recently having only released one track since her brilliant album, 'Designer', back in April of 2019. The critically acclaimed album was a top five hit in her native New Zealand and further enhanced her growing world-wide reputation for delivering some of the best alternative Folk around.

To coincide with the release of her new single Aldous Harding has also announced that she will be embarking on a major world-wide tour in 2022. Starting in Brussels at Cirque Royal on March 3rd, Harding will then travel through the Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, Denmark, Sweden and the UK. She will play at The Barbican in London for two nights before she heads off to Norwich, Glasgow, Dublin, Manchester, Brighton, Cardiff and Bristol. Aldous will then fly over to North America, re-commencing her tour there in Chicago before finally bringing the 47 date tour to an end in Lawrence, Kansas on July 2nd.

'Old Peel' is the second single Aldous Harding has released this year and follows on from her March single 'Revival'. Where 'Revival' was a cover of a Deerhunter song, released as part of 4AD's 40th anniversary retrospective 'Bills & Aches & Blues', 'Old Peel' is an entirely new release of a song that Harding has been playing live for a few years now.

Whilst 'Old Peel' didn't make it on to her previous album it is thought that the John Parish produced track will figure on her long awaited follow up to 'Designer' which is expected later this year.

'Old Peel', together with it's 'Alternate Version', will be released as a 7" vinyl single on July 9th.
