Lissy Taylor - Quiet Rage Music Video

  • 23 April 2021

Ahead of her hotly anticipated second EP release this summer, Stoke-On-Trent singer-songwriter Lissy Taylor has premiered a new song and video called 'Quiet Rage'. Having started 2020 in spectacular fashion with her captivating debut single, 'Mayday', Lissy Taylor underlined her growing credibility with her first EP release, 'Wildflowers', in October. Now the young songstress is back with a firecracker single and she's sounding better than ever.

'Quiet Rage' captures Taylor's inherent ability to effortlessly transition from emotive to energised or hurting to empowered. The depth and range of Lissy's vocal seems to be getting greater with each release. The Country lilt she picked up whilst learning to hone her craft in Kentucky has now been infused with a deeper soulfulness. When these elements are coupled with an incendiary Indie-Rock riff and driven percussion, as they have been on her latest track, 'Quiet Rage', then the resultant sound is both explosive and utterly enthralling.

'Quiet Rage' is full of torment and pent-up anger and touches on hidden emotions and unexpressed feelings, however, it is also a song that has an underlying desire and a want for that to change. Lissy sings about "My stained glass, colour coated, filtering my past. My quiet rage, Screamin silence, rattling my rib cage" but goes on to recognise a need and longing for that to alter as she sings, "I will grow, I will blossom."

Taylor has certainly grown with each subsequent release and is undoubtedly blossoming into a formidable singer-songwriter. 'Quiet Rage', the lead single from Lissy Taylor's forthcoming EP, is a pumped up slice of power-pop that manages to harness the inner turmoil of the protagonist through a performance that has both resonance and a venomous vitality.
